Bears released longtime starter LT Charles Leno (7 years, 2018 Pro Bowl).

Eric Fisher is out there on torn Achilles (risk is could be a effectively career ending at his age & weight).

Villanueva is rumored to go to Ravens but nothing done yet.

Unlikely these are the only veterans with a year left to call on (memories of Flozell Adams in 2010). Thoughts on being mindful about veteran FAs on OL that will inevitably increase in market to shore up?

Hoping they are looking at these final cuts for a LT and a cornerback. Those are two right now positions that might not have the luxury of waiting for rookies to develop or to see if already rostered players are good enough. Bringing in vets would lessen those positional concerns as well as fortifying positional battles. Iron sharpens iron.

Whether it's OL or not, I definitely see the Steelers bringing in a vet FA or 2 or 3 to at least compete, if not take a starting job. Now that the draft is over, some players will be cut and they along with the remaining FA's from before the draft will be picked through. We always grab a player or two between now and the season starts. Heck, some players we grab during preseason cut downs.

Us fans don't like it but the STEELERS are very slow, like molasas in wintertime, about bringing in this second round of FAs. Like said, sometimes it's training camp cut downs. Their (steelers) patient way has proven good in the past and I don't see them varying from this method.

Salute the nation

I'm slightly curious about Leno.
He may have a year or two left in the tank.
He's 30 and was only cut due to cap restraints.

Steelers don't have the cap room to sign productive veterans.

Doubtful that a lot of teams have the money to put on 1 and done vets. It's not like most guys will command a lot of money either.

wait till camp and see hoe Fisher knee is if alright 1 year deal prove it with incentives if he cracks the 53 and beats out Chukes

Some team is looking at him, he might be off the grapevine soon.

Wasn't it a torn Achilles? If so, he won't be ready to practice until October.
