I am more concerned with how a player plays, him locker room impact, and if he causes unnecessary distractions to a team. We need pas rushers and if he can prove that he is fast enough to get to the qb, then someone should give him a chance.

I do care about how and with whom the Steelers are going to fill in some of the holes on the depth chart. With that said, I'd hope they would take a look at Carriker and So'oto from the Vets' Combine list.

You might be right about the weight/40 time. Personally, I'd like to see if his strength has improved. He only put up 17 reps at the combine, so he would have needed to add strength to compete at the NFL level. For comparison, J. Jones, a player much maligned about his strength (or lack of) put up 20 reps at his pro day.

sign Kafka, Leshoure and if Carriker is healthy adding Leshoure would give us better depth as Deangelo hasa ton of milage on him and Mikeal just needs a chance to prove he can play, it would be a great 4 way fight to see what the depth chart will be at RB for the first 2 games

Rolle played well for the Eagles as a starter one year. Then came to camp with the Steelers after he lost his starting spot in Philly. Was released a couple of years ago (?) in the last round of cuts I believe. Plays ILB and we're set there.

I would offer a different view with out the gay spin, that they find it disgusting, much the same as people find vomit disgusting, but they are not in fear of it.

Exactly Wingman! It has nothing to do with fear. The reason I say I don't want Sam on this team is he has shown he is absolutely NOT all about football and about being a good teammate. He is a below average NFL talent who is an ego-maniac. It's all about him. For me, don't want him at all.

I've always liked Carriker. His career fell short, but I don't see what harm a minimum 1-year contract would do.

Can he be any worse than Joe Kruger, Ethan Hemer or Matt Conrath?

In the same article, it mentions that an area was set up just for Sam to talk to the media (he didn't appear). And the quote ""It's very difficult to argue that him coming out didn't hurt his football career,".

Sam, himself wouldn't be a distraction, but the media seem intent on making the distraction.
