Vanguard's Video Mock Draft (Rounds 1-3)

Round 3, Pick 2: Cardale Jones

Yeah, I said it. 12 gauge. Has all the tools, but is raw. Could not have a better mentor than Ben.

Jones regressed. Not an an nfl QB. Accuracy and decision making are not there. He had a great line too. Too much of a gamble for round two and we need to build a defense while Ben is still in his prime.

I agree Jones regressed after he was given the starting job. I do not know if it was lack of motivation, preparation, skill, or just defenses figured him out. Think there are too many concerns to take a gamble. Is he even entering the draft for sure?

I'm not being a homer - really, I'm not.

Both McCarron and Coker will be better than you think. I'd probably wager that AJ could be in the starting QB battle in Cincy next year...

And Jake Coker is already better than Landry Jones. Yes, he is...I said it....

Are you okay Bermuda?

McCaron can start for some NFL teams, but he's nothing special. No way he's beating out Dalton. Dalton was in the MVP conversation.

Coker is the next John Parker Wilson. A college player with a lot of talent around him / game manager type with a mediocre arm. If he's drafted its going to be round 6 or 7.

Thats a stretch. Especially considering his 2014 debut. That 4 game stretch was more impressive than anything we've seen from Hackenberg- and Christian will probably be gone by the 2nd.

While he did regress- look at the QB situation at OSU. Meyer would change QB's at the drop off the hat.

Lets face it. Urban Meyer is a great coach, but not a cultivator of QB's.

I don't want to draft a QB this year, but - if you forced me to take a developmental guy - it would certainly be Cardale Jones. I'd love to try and develop someone with that sort of upside.

Dan rooney supposedly has a rule about trading out of the first. It willnever happen. In past years when they liked a second rounder enough they just took him in the bottom of the first
