Update : Weddle signs 29 mil deal with Ravens

Ah, I was hopeful, but moving on. Focus on T and look elsewhere for DB help. Just don't tell me Blake is the answer.

Question: Who was the weakest link of the 2015 Steelers secondary?

Weddle and Steve Smith Sr. are best buds. I am sure he convinced Weddle to come to Ratland and steal some of the money Rats are paying out. Soooooo glad Steelers did not overpay for oldness.

He was too old and BAL overpaid.

Build through the draft. Lake, Woodson, Polamalu, all drafted.

Who Ride?

I look forward to Brown and company burning this chump's ***.

I know I already said this: Show me where a once great safety left his original team in his 30's and did well on the new team? Isn't gonna happen.

Rod Woodson oh and Charles Woodson as well.

I, for one, am glad we didnt give big money to an older ufa... Maybe he plays till he is 40, but likely he is done by 33.... The more head hits you take, the shorter your career... And safeties are the worse defensive position at taking hits... Most old safeties are convered cbs...

mike mitchell is a free safety for the pittsburgh steelers

Could you make that any clearer ????? (SARCASM)

I was lukewarm on Weddle. He's better than what the Steelers have but I don't think he's great. Ravens overpaid for a guy who does not scare me.
I wonder if some of the ratbird's thinking was "we can't let the STEELERS sign him"............I HOPE SO !!!!!!

1.) Blake
2) Allen
3.) Uncle jarvis ( i know he isn't in the secondary)

Salute the nation

Darren Woodson had a nice long career as well.

I'd say Blake with Will Allen very close to him

1.) Blake
2) Allen
3.) Uncle jarvis ( i know he isn't in the secondary)

It seems everyone just simply missed Supe's Jeopardy reference...

Darren Woodson had a nice long career as well.

But he only played for one team. It's rare that a safety in his 30's switches teams and has a ton of success.

Weddle and Allen's stats last year were very close. And Allen didn't skip a halftime for a dance recital.

Well I didn't want weddle on the team for a 5M or more contract, I have never advocated for his signing.

Oh yeah, was more a comment on players with the last name Woodson being good.

And John Lynch switched teams and did ok I think. He made 4 pro bowls in Denver.

Time will tell. Statistically, the odds are against it. The few names mentioned are the great minority.

Just watched the highlights again. Weddle shied away from contact most of the game. He was unblocked and had an angle to make a play on Bell's TD run, but gave up on the play. Also on Bells TD reception, he was unblocked in the EZ and watched his team try to take him down instead of joining them, when he had the ability to.

I'm glad we don't have this guy. His age is starting to show.
