Had a great time with my dad on the first Steelers cruise two years ago. Was wondering if anybody else on here is setting sail with us on February 25th out of Miami. It's only two weeks away! Last time I forgot to post before we left...it would be cool to meet some of you in the fun and sun this year.

If not, I'll tell you all about it when I get back.

Salute the nation

Thanks, guys. Surprised though...no one else is going?

Sounds like a ton of fun. Which Steelers are going? How much access to you get to them?

Personally, I find cruises to be claustrophobic. Small rooms, and after a day at sea, the ship seems tiny. I do enjoy the destinations, but they always seem too short to me.

I think I saw Harrison promoting it on facebook.

I agree with you Cope. We were bored to tears, 3 days in. 1 week way too long. Food was decent. And you could get room service any hour of the day or night, free.

The time it took to sail from Bahamas to Puerto Rico seemed like forever. Topspeed, hope you have a blast.

The first one was incredible. A lot of people were mistaking me for Heath Miller (even though I'm only 6'2"). This one guy got really pissed at me when I wouldn't take a picture with him and his son. I met Heath later playing mini-golf and he was cool about it...we got a nice picture and he said I could sign his name if I wanted.

I also met Antonio Brown and taught him how to play craps. I worked out with (more like next to) him and his personal trainer. He was fun to hang with. I got tons of pictures and autographs including from one of my favorite players, Greg Lloyd. We played basketball and pool volleyball and other events right alongside the players, including Cam Heyward.

This time around, however, they're charging $399 for autographs and $299 to work out with AB, and extra for the player events. I consider myself lucky to have experienced the 2014 version, but still looking forward to another great vacation.

Hey sorry about the delay, but I wanted to say that we had a great time! Got some great pictures, including Antonio Brown, Dermontti Dawson, Bryan Trottier, and Manny Sanguillen. Hung out with
AB again during his last night on the ship (he had to fly from Mexico to LA for Dancing with the Stars)...he recognized me from the last cruise as the guy who kind of looks like Heath Miller. He also hooked me up with an incredible treat for my 9-year-old son. Jeff Reed was everywhere, and seemed to be having a wonderful time. But he told me he's "not sure" if he'll be invited back for the next one.

Also met some great fans from all over the country, caught a Pirates-Tigers game in Lakeland, and only gained 8 pounds for the trip!

That's pretty ******* sweet, man. Even more so that Antonio Brown remembered who you were. Through your two reviews, it sounds like it's a vacation that's definitely worth saving for and going on Atleast once. Were you there to save those 9 fishermen or however many it was?

Definitely worth it both times, although the first one had a few more marquee names. Like I mentioned earlier, the second time around they were charging extra for a lot of the events that were free before. Plus the ship was a bit nicer in 2014 (I think they are switching back to Royal Caribbean for the next one). Still, it's just an awesome atmosphere with not only the players, but also all the Steelers fans overtaking the boat...I forgot to tell this story:

I was at the airport in Miami waiting for the Carnival shuttle to the ship. With my Ben jersey on. These dudes (pretty big guys -- I actually thought they were players at first) come over to me and ask: "What's the deal with all these Steelers fans all over the place?" Turns out they were Bengals fans from Cincinnati...and they had no idea that the vacation they were about to embark on was mostly a Steelers Cruise! Man, were they pissed! Kinda felt bad for them, but not really.

Yes, we saved those people, but they weren't fisherman, they were Cuban refugees. And having to stop for their wayward ***** (picked 'em up between Cuba and Mexico...they were supposed to be heading to the U.S.) caused us to get into Cozumel late, by then it was raining, and most of the shore excursions were cancelled. Mexico wouldn't take them, so I'm not sure where they ended up.
