This is a wild take. At his size with his tools, he basically had no chance at being a starter, plus he brings a circus.

They are looking for HBack types... its the fad in the NFL this decade... a guy who plays small TE/ FB and some RB stuff...

Aren't they listing Riley as a FB? Not that he can't do a bit of the other stuff. Just what I read. I wouldn't mind seeing a real FB role in our WC McCarthy offense. Kuhn says hello.
