Despite originally planning to play in Jacksonville next season, defensive tackle Tyson Alualu‘s change of heart led him back to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a two-year contract. While the signing didn’t create a lot of headlines, Alualu’s return is tremendous for the Steelers run defense going forward. Alualu was fantastic for the Steelers last season and helped ease the loss of Javon Hargrave‘s presence on the interior line.

Tyson Alualu is currently the highest-graded interior defender of 2020

Alualu’s skillset doesn’t speak volumes in regards to numbers on the stat sheet, but his ability to clog running lanes is undeniable and has exponential value especially in a division with various threats in their respective run games. While he isn’t a big name around the league, he is a big presence and without him there would be a massive difference for the rock solid Pittsburgh defense.

A solid depth signing. I am a little worried the bottom is about to hit but he helped slow the free agent bleeding from exiting players.

Oh course, plus he's going to get a super bowl ring this next season. It's a win, win for everyone. Probably something with 7 large diamonds in it.

we all love Tyson alualu but for the coaches and front office to call this “biggest move of our off season“ shows just how out of touch with reality the “steeler brain trust” is. We for the most part don’t rely on alu for anything but back up. We are going into the season with 2 defensive ends at tackle and two safeties as inside linebacker in a division that runs the ball as well as any division in NFL. great.. this team finally figured how to stop the pass and that would be fine if was 2005 and tom Brady was still kicking our *** but it’s not... real teams run the ball now. Our defense under tomlin and butler is a paper dragon you could sign ten alualu‘s it wouldn’t change the facts.

It is good that Tyson Alualu is coming back as like many have said it one less need and I'd bet his contract is fairly cap friendly. Robert Spillane is as good as Bince as we never lost much upon Bince's injury when Spillane took over. In fact, I think SPILLANE had more of where the ball is sense and it showed. Spillane showed he can hit like a MACK truck as well, aske the titans RB for confirmation if need. We can stop the run and Mike & Keith need to step up their coaching game because I truly think coaching holds this "D" back.
