If the NFL creates a rule because a specific play has a high percentage rate of success, then they're retarded.

Rules should solely be in place for player safety and fair gamesmanship, and there have been no significant injuries to date.

It was illegal until 2005. Pulling a player is illegal. Using other players for leverage on D and ST is illegal.

I used to play Rugby when I was younger.

I like mauls. Even rolling mauls (which the NFL hasn't figured out yet).

But I don't think they should be in football.

In football, you get the advantage of blocking. I don't think you should also get the option of pushing a guy (or pulling a guy).

If you do (at any point), I think it should be like fumbling out of bounds. Ball goes to the spot of the fumble there. I think it should go to the spot when the assisted forward motion should go. But the league won't go that far IMO.

I can't understand how it's legal to begin with. Assisting the ball carrier is not allowed by rule.
