Yeah the refs sucked *** but it is tough to win games when you don't get the ball from the other team and this defense simply does not get them.

Sacks are the most overrated stats of all. We routinely get sacks on drives that eventually end in TDs for the offense. They still convert on subsequent downs. Consistent pressure is much better as it makes QBs uncomfortable and they start rushing throws even when the pressure is not immanent. We give up 24 points a game and rarely do our sacks end drives or determine the outcomes of games.

Our sacks are meaningless, even if we get a 12 yard loss and make it 3rd and 22, our defense routinely gives up the first on 3rd and long.

The feeling you get watching Haden snag an easy pic and then get creamed by his own player and THEN watching the untouched receiver catch another easy pass for a TD.

I was thinking that’s now two games at home this season where we score 30 or more and still lose. And we now have lost three games at home we should have won. Unacceptable! Tomlin really needs to be replaced after this season for assembling this **** show on defense, his specialty.
The Pack let McCarthy go who won a SB and had nine playoff appearances. What’s Tomlin done? One SB win eight playoff appearances.

I don't agree with the Pack firing McCarthy mid season, but I commend the Packers for having the wherewithal to realize that the team had hit a wall and the players were not responding to McCarthy and having the guts to make a change. I have NO confidence that Rooney will ever have the stones to replace a coach or make a difficult decision like that. They are too enamored with the illustrious record of stability at the HC position. This team had the opportunity to have a true dynasty in the past 10 years and repeatedly under performed. Tomlin continues to fire coordinators and position coaches while we see the exact same offense and defense with new coordinators...doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the common denominator is after all of this time.

They get pressure. They get sacks but the DBs just dont make plays. They just dont.

Haden can make plays on the ball. In fact he did until Sean Davis trucked him.

Outside of Haden and Hilton ( don’t play Hilton outside please ) the rest of the DB’s are an average to poor lot. No speed and limited ball skills.

It’s time to look at the 2019 free agent DB’s and draft prospects. I hear Ramsey can be obtained. I say do it.

We caused a turnover last night with the Haden interception, unfortunately Sean Davis broke up the interception, probably concussed Haden and allowed a touchdown all on the same play

We never even look back for the ball ever. It's like all of the vertebrae on their necks are fused. Haden is the only guy with ball skills. The rest just run around.

Stillers are 25th in the take away, give away category. Hell, even Cleveland is +10.

Mind boggling.

Yeah Packers done with McCarthy.. yet his last Super Bowl victory was 2 years after Mike’s AND oh yeah, he beat Mike in that game..

10-6, 9-7, 4-7. Pretty clear which way they were trending.

11-5, 13-3, 7-4-1. If you can't see the difference, it's just blind hate.

Let's also not forget how pathetic their division has been until very recently.

2016, Packers go to NFCC, 2017 Rodgers is injured in week 6 and on IR.

They haven't drafted a decent CB or S in years.

Rodger is always getting hurt. They let one of their best WR leave in free agency, have one of the best TE's in the game and can't figure out how to use him (neither could Seattle), they can't keep a consistent running game going.

The point is the same. Rodgers is overrated, McCarthy had lost the team LONG before this season. Unlike our beloved Steelers, players weren't coming to McCarthy's defense when the media or fans got on him. You guys like to whine and cry about Tomlin being too chummy and being an idiot (which I laugh at), but his players will run thru walls for him. That doesn't always equate to wins, but it does mean that his message isn't lost on these guys, and they are still listening. The Packers were not listening to what McCarthy was saying anymore. You could see it in their body language.

And that NFCC game they went to, they shouldn't have been in that game to begin with. Dallas got screwed, and what happened in that game? They got DESTROYED by the Falcons.

This is an ongoing theme. Since 2010, the SB year where they were EXCELLENT at +17, and since a -18 overall. You aren't very good in the grand scheme if you're not giving yourselves extra opportunities. They're actually only averaging a shade over 20 takeaways a year in that stretch which would rank about 18th ish. Their best year since was in 2016 when they were a +5 23-18, and when they reached the AFCCG. Their saving grace that year was the fact they didn't give it away much which they were 10th in the league. The best that year? NE, +12. In that stretch since '09, NE has been in the top 10 in ratio/giveaways. In fact, they're usually in top 5. Just a comparison.

The Chargers used Allen out of the slot a great deal of the time. Hilton excels in slot coverage, so I would have kept him at home on Allen most of the time. Simple. No need to try and "outsmart" my opponent with a ridiculous game plan.

Of course, I'm not coaching the Steelers.
