Tuitt.

Only if the glass is half full or within 24 hours of a loss.

The Steelers have allowed 34 pass TDs since the start of last season, better than only the Bears and Buccaneers. This year I think that number will go up.

he got into an argument with BlackNGoldBalls

I liked BlackNGOldBalls. He was a good poster with a sense of humor. What every happened to him?

The real reason for the hiatus was I opened my own business that took a lot my time. 5 years later I sold it, then lived life Entourage style for a while.

Eventually I got married, bought a new house and had a child. My 2nd child is due this November, so I'll be posting a bit less for a while.

Tuitt playing like JJ Watt!

Tuitt playing like JJ Watt!

You can compare the two.

First four game comparison:

Watt 23 tackles 4 sacks, 5 passes defended

Tuitt 22 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 0 passes defended.

I wouldn't go THAT far, but I am very pleased with Tuitt's play. Barring injury, he's going to be a force for years to come.

weill that's 5 passes defended against none. As bmoritz said, pleased and happy with his play and development but let's not get crazy with the comparisons, Watt is an example of consistency, let's hope our guy keeps the high level

He's been amazing. Watch as he gets better.

Tuitt is a lot (football years) younger nthan JJ. DID JJ start football at his high level of play, OR< did he work up to it as he gained experience....... I'd say the later. It's good to see Tuitt playing well and with experience, I'd like to think he gets better and better.

He's not at that level yet, Coach - but, I would attribute his success to the new defensive schemes that allow the DE's to do more than occupy OLmen to create space for the LB's...

***He's also a VERY GOOD pass rusher and good run stopper. The pairing w/ Heyward was a great by both the FO and coaching staff.

JJ's second year he had 20.5 sacks, his first year was pretty solid as well. I still don't think you can compare the two.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not in ANY way putting down Tuitt, but JJ is a freakin beast. Best defensive player in the league, bar none. It's like saying Ben's not as good as Rodgers. That's not a slap to Ben's face, Rodgers is just that freakin good!

I like Tuitt and think he can be a star in the NFL but he hasn't reached JJ Watt level yet. This is only his second season and really his first starting season so the future is very bright for him and the STeelers but a little premature here Coach. Hang in there and enjoy the ride cause its going to be a fun one to watch.

To clarify I do not think Tuitt is as good as Watt. That would take a few seasons of similar play, but right now ( four games of 2015 ) he's playing almost as well as Watt.

Beside what was mentioned how many hurries do both players have ?

Tuitt could very well develop into a star /or at least a solid player.

But to base a comparison off of sacks and tackles is reaching...

But yeah I love his progress so far.

Yeah im not sure we want to go there yet... though with better NT play id really really like that dline

Tuitt has 5 Tackles for Loss and 6 QB hits.
Watt has 11 and 9.

let's not get carried away, alright?

Teams gameplan for J.J. Watt, Tuitt has a lot more opportunity to make plays b/c he doesn't get the attention that Watt gets. That said, Tuitt is playing pleasantly well and I hope he gets better with every game. If he does, and Shazier stays healthy, we can probably concentrate on our defensive backfield in the next draft.

But to the point of the thread, Tuitt has been playing pretty well, but far from elite at this point.

The ONLY comparison I am making, is that with EXPERIENCE, they both have gotten better. JJ's play doesn't affect me one way or the other, Tuitt's play, improving, has a positive affect on me.
