Tuitt

Killed hit and run about 3 or 4 months ago. He's having a hard time of it. Isn't participating much at camp.

Sounds like the man is grieving hard. I feel bad for him. Some things are bigger than the NFL. The Steelers are a solid organization that support their own. I'm sure he will get all the help they can give. Prayers.

Is there a current or new article? I feel for the man but as you say the STEELERS have things in place to help. Life is bigger than football regardless of if you are a player or a fan.

Blessings his way

It wasn't an article. He just hasn't practiced very much and it's clear it's not injury related.

This is going to be a tough one. When he plays, he is good and we need him to practice. They showed shots of him and he looks completely out of shape - unlike he normally does. It may take him until mid-season to get back in shape and playing to where we need him to be. Hopefully, Alualu and others are ready to go for at least the first few weeks of the season.

Coach Tomlin has been asked a few times about this, as has Keith Butler. They've both been 100% supportive of him, acknowledging the impact it's had on his family, particularly his mom. What a terrible ordeal to have to deal with. I think in life, the grieving process is eventually best handled by getting back into the swing of things. Perhaps football will provide that for Stephon. With the support and comradery of his teammates, he can turn this into extra motivation to get back in full form and put his hand in the pile to help the team. I wish him nothing but the best, and hope he's fully back once the season kicks off.

Tibs, your recipee is VERY correct for some. It's hard to say as many handle greif in their own secluded way. He might just be having a hard time accepting that his brother is gone. Sometimes that fact alone draws things out (greiving) for extended periods of time. I don't have the answers but I do have compassion for him and anyone else in the greiving process.

The team / coaches / fellow teammates are all pulling for him and I hope he finds his way back to normalcy / happiness.

I agree. I just hope they have a contingency plan because, at this point, he very well may not be fully ready to play until mid-season

If that's the case, I see two possible scenarios:

1. Move Aluala to Tuitt's spot and start either Buggs or Davis at NT/DT.
2. Keep Alualu inside and start Wormley or Loudermilk at Tuitt's spot. We know nothing about Wormley at this point, and seems like a tall order for the rook.

Let's hope Tuitt's back in no time.

Don't rule Loudermilk out due to rookie statis as he is surprising many. His motor doesn't shut off and that is a huge benifit of his play. You're right on needing a plan B.

Yeah, I was shaking my head during the draft when folks were crying over Loudermilk. You think the Steelers would trade *up* for a specific DE if they didn't have a pretty good determination what type of prospect he was and how he'd fit in this scheme? You think John Mitchell didn't sign off on a guy like that? He seems to have all the makings of a great 3-4 DE, along the lines of Smith/Keisel/Cam/Tuitt. Same big body, same motor & drive. Still seems a bit too raw to be out there starting games, but maybe we'll learn more about him these next few warm-up games. Even as a rotational DE it would be huge to be able to give Cam/Tuitt a few reps to catch their breath. Loudermilk could be an impressive piece, even this early in his career. Excited to see how it will pan out.

We don't know nothing about Wormley?

I dunno. What do we know about Wormley, playing in a Steelers uniform? You tell me, maybe I missed something.

Wormley is a 1.2 million dollar dead cap. He isn't going anywhere.

I have nothing against the guy, just don't think we have too much hard evidence what he's capable of. I know they liked him enough to sign him last year, looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field.

I agree with your thoughts on Wormley completely. I just know when he is a 1.2 million cut he will be depth at least.

Wormsley looked bad last year rather see buggs at dt and rotating with Henry and Davis
