So as we sit today, the Steelers are just a hair under $7M in cap space. Tuitt has a cap charge of $1,466,641 and his prorated charge is $418,081 while his salary is $1,048,560.
I'm pretty sure, when they resign Tuitt, his salary will count as cap space toward the new deal, so the Steelers would be closer to $8M to sign him and hopefully have some room to sign emergency players should injuries occur throughout the year. I also think his prorated charge will be on the books, but I have to wait until after the contract details come out to make certain.
$6M of cap space should be plenty of space for a multiyear deal in it's first year. He will have a decent signing bonus spread out over the years of his contract, with a minimum salary. That would leave $2M for emergencies throughout the year.
So, did he sign yet?
nay it was a good guess.
7 day ban for spreading false news rumors
