By G.Stryker: So the trade deadline has come and gone on this All Hallow’s Eve, Eve.* The bell has tolled, so to speak, and the Steelers Le’Veon Bell ensured he will finish this season as a Steeler.* Will he play is the other question? The Steelers organization has been tricked before, thinking they would have […]

We have known this outcome for awhile.

I don't think it will be a treat for Bell to return.

It has the potential to be a chemistry and rhythm buster.

Something I am not interested in experimenting to see if that way of thinking comes to pass.

For a guy who wants maximum value out of himself, he's already lost about 6mil. And, if he doesn't get back before week 10, dude loses all of that 14 mil. Sure, he may get injured, but he'd be getting paid. Dude is getting doughnuts at the moment. Just seems he bet on himself and it ain't working out like he hoped.

Clarification needed.

I don't see BELL showing up until the absolute latest possible minute. I see the STEELERS utilizing the 2 week roster exempt ticket but agreeing to pay him a negotiated value, if he shows up two weeks before the 6 game contractual acrrue to satisfy tag. That basically means they will pay him to practice into game shape at a reduced price. The STEELERS hold the cards unless BELL chooses to sit entire season which would be even more dumber than dumb. On a positive of him sitting, we wouldn't get the distraction of him being present.

IMO this is a huge test for one Mike Tomlin. If when LevBell is ready to go and Tomlin drops him in as the starter and pushes JConn back to the bench then that’s the the final chapter of the overrated coach as far as I’m concerned.
That would change the entire dynamics of the team especially the offense and sends a terrible message to the team let alone JConn.

Why is there so much concern for a player that has held the Steelers at bay, fool to give up all this money and really what has it accomplished. The biggest question when he will have to show sooner or later is what Tomlin will do with him. Do you really put a player on the field slapping the running backs we have in the face, do you put a player o the field that does not want o be here, do you put a player on the field more concerned thought of being, ha ha over used and getting hurt. What does it really accomplish .

I am so tired of this drama . he comes back we play him minimal, get him into football shape, hopefully he helps us get number 7. let him go away, pick up a 3rd comp pick. in 2 years give conner 1/2 the money Bell was asking for.

**** Bell. Put the 2 week exemption on him, and don't pay him a dime during that time. He don't like it? I don't give a ****. Then, don't dress him the rest of the way. Again, he don't like it? Too damn bad. He's been nothing but a selfish ******* this entire time. **** him.

Tomlin is too weak, he will kiss his *** and play him more than he should as Connor is better and is the future. Bell is fat, out of shape and will play not to get hurt.

He would work well doing the things we have been asking of Switzer on offense. Put him out there with Conner at times to be creative and otherwise keep him as an insurance policy against Conner getting hurt. Do not do anything to jeopardize Conners confidence but keep Conner from being over used.

We have Samuels for that, don't need Bell. Give LevMEon a taste of his own medicine, and screw him over. He's an *******.

I thought that at first, but cooler minds showed me different.

Too much money being tied to him to not get some use for him.

And when you want a SB in your life, you need to take advantage of talent.

Not that you have to start him, you can play him in Ridley's role who has done little. Jaysam still is in the growing phase.

You play Bell in relief and if he ever starts to come on you can throw him in on third downs here and there.

Although my preference is in a relief role only..Not to run Conner into the ground, so they both can be healthy at the end of the year.

After the year?yeah **** Bell send him on his way.

**** Bell! **** Bell! **** Bell! Ride the pine behind Conner the rest of the year and I hope you never regain your form.

No reason for MeVeon to play. Sit his ***. The stillers have Samuels and Ridley to give Connor breathers. I don't want to see him on the field.

He screwed the team, the fans and his fellow players. He is playing games and I hope his teammates let him know that when he does show up. He is a poor teammate. There was no reason for him not to sign and let a trade happen other than to screw over the team, his teammates and the fans. Everyone knows he wants to play elsewhere. He did this just for spite to try and **** the Steelers over so they get nothing in return for his sorry ***. I hope the Steelers do the same in return but I doubt they will.

Play him at wideout and lets see if really is worth WR2 money as well.

Great idea....we could use another WR, why not 'Mr. me-me' ?

That's another issue. One of them will have to go when they reinstate MeVeon.

Last year durring the season many said he could play WR, even some said that when he can't play RB he could switch to WR. MANY are WRONG about this.. Bell's receiving threat was when lined up as a RB and came out of the backfield. He was a dual threat. Line him up at wide receiver and you've got NOTHING due to his lack of speed and limited breakaway ability. WASTE

I don't know about this one as the front office will have input on this. Money vs talent but if it were me, I'd be praying real hard that BELL chooses to sit the entire season. BEST scenerio for both parties.

I'd make Bell our second slot option and backup RB. Conner is the starter now period. If he goes down, Bell will get his chance

Calmer heads Cope. You nailed it, if BELL shows up this is near the exact role he should get provided he is contributing and NOT just a body on the field of play.

This is my "HOT HEAD" reaction as well but I'm so over BELL that I've calmed down considerably. I've adopted the attitude that if he can contribute to "W"s and we get #7 then more power to it and we can't control "run him until his wheels fall of" cool shades. NO it would not be right to sit JAMES CONNER at all or even relinquish any of his playing time. Bell in a back up role but contributing and utilizing the talent provided he is contributing.

For comparison, 6mil is about double that I will make in my working lifetime.

If he doesn't report by November 13th he can't play. For clarity’s sake does this affect a potential compensatory draft tick if he signs elsewhere in free agency?

I'll speculate, he might not be able to pass an NFL drug test, or even want to play football.

Why else would he cost himself this much money?

I'm inclined to agree, Me'Veon may not be able to pass a mandatory drug test. That said, I also question the strategy both Bell and his agent have taken forfeiting millions of dollars in guaranteed revenue for simply showing up and playing; and the absence of exposure to prospective bidders come the free agent auction market.
Just from a business perspective, it makes no sense.
For someone who attended a fairly prestigious University like Michigan STATE, Bell and his agent are both dumber than a box of rocks!
