Colts just tied themselves to Daniel Jones. You can't trade away 2 first round picks unless you feel you're close to winning a Super Bowl and Jones is the guy who can lead you. Giving up 2 first rounders for Sauce is insane. He's good but he's not that good. He's not Revis in his prime. This move is Super Bowl or bust.

Cowboys pretty much admitted trading Parsons was a mistake. Quinnen Williams is a good player but he's not as big of an impact player as Parsons.

The Jets are punting on the season for a full rebuild. They should have traded Breece Hall as well. They now have a bunch of first round picks but the bad news is it will be the Jets making those picks.

I think the steelers were smart to stand pat. Jakobi Meyers seems to have been the only real target. Jags got him for a 4th and 6th rounder. That's not a huge price, but still, I think it was right not to get him if they had to beat that.

Meyers is a solid player but he's not a game changer. How much would he really boost the steelers chances? He's turning 29 this week. Would they resign him to a long term contract in the offseason? Maybe. But they can likely get a free agent of his caliber without spending a draft pick.

The Steelers are 2 years into a rebuild. They need the draft picks for the future, and were wise not to spend now to advance 1 more round in the 25 playoffs.

I knew it would prove to be a mistake of epic proportions. They paid 34 million to an underperforming Wr and traded the better guy to the Cowboys.

100% agree...and they had all the leverage against him with it being a Contract year. He has a smart agent. His agent would not have given him bad advice.

That is way too steep though.
There aren't 2 guys in the league that would bring us a superbowl with this defense. You could add chase and Jefferson Tomlins defense would still blow it. The killer Bee Steelers were 10x as good as this team. Tomlin isn’t winning anything no matter what. Especially not with austin and smith.
It really doesn't matter until Tomlins gone and we all know it.

As much as I like Tomlin no lie was told...I still place more blame on the GMs and scouting for these horrible drafts. It wouldn't hurt to have a stud QB in his prime. He needs desperately to replace a couple of position coaches (OL, DBs). If he can hire a competent DC where he doesnt feel the need to be 100% involved I would feel pretty confident. Way more confident then I feel right now at least. There needs to be a philosophy, concept, scheme revamping. Maybe we got that with the last game. We'll certainly find out in the next two games and if it ends up being a couple more games of Jekyl and Hyde play we'll know we're right back where we started.

Can you win with Pickens? Shiit, the Cowboys are 3-5-1 with him. They do some fun things on offense, sure, but they aren't winning. And as they are trying to mount a comeback against the Cardinals, good ole George shows up with a stupid taunting penalty. He is great talent, but an idiot. I'm not sure anyone is gonna break through that.

My guess is the Steelers lack of making a big splash at the deadline is more indicative they don't think they are one or two players away from competing with the top teams in the league for a championship this year. They didn't want to mortgage the future on a player or two that won't be the difference and Tomlin probably wouldn't play anyway. Thanks to Rodgers' talent, the offense as is has been good enough to win games and could have won more than they have if the defense had not been so bad for most of the year.

If Rodgers really does hang it up after this year, they are probably thinking about the draft next year and picking up a QB early using existing assets to move up if needed.

I do hope Rodgers stays a second year. As good as he has been to date after a few games and months with the team, he would be that much better next year with more time in the system and hopefully a couple better skill players after the draft and free agency next year.

Trevor Lawrence has more passing attempts than Aaron, but Darnold's been super efficient. So there was more appeal, I guess, to go there for Meyers and Shaheed.

Fully agree, DK Sports had a nice little clip on the trade deadline. It’s not just what the Steelers need/want, but they have to find a team willing to give that component.

I’m glad we didn’t give up any draft capital. We currently have a 4th rnd pick starting at RG and a 6th rnd pick developing at QB. I wouldn’t want that potential traded to maybe win a PO game.

There is no competent DC that would take this job. Also remember that Tomlin drove the MOST competent DC out due to his wanting involved 100%.

The biggest problem is the media keeps incorrectly calling us " all in" this year.. we got older stopgaps at minimal cap impact. We havent traded any premium picks... we arent close to all in and shouldnt be... teams that have done that have either been heavy favorites or had problematic cap issues coming up that favored a dramatic asset binge in one single year.


Honestly if the qb we like isnt there, id be fine with trading down and pushing assets into 2027 this draft

I sure hope you’re right, the QB pool for the upcoming draft shrinks every week and I don’t see anyone (yet) worth mortgaging your draft capital. If some college QB makes huge strides and blows the combine away, no way we can compete with the draft capital of the Jets, Browns, Cowboys (Trade Dak), even the Rams with Stafford on his last legs.

We have so many needs, start filling them and have patience.
