Top contenders for ROY honors


1) Ed Oliver, DT, Buffalo Bills: The ninth overall pick -- he should not have fallen that far -- is going to help the underrated Bills defense get the respect it deserves. He will wreck shop from the three-technique position, and defensive guru Sean McDermott is the right guy to get the most out of him. He isn't exactly Aaron Donald 2.0, but he might not be too far off.

2) Devin Bush, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers: I like everything about the Steelers' bold move to trade up for Bush, who offers an intoxicating blend of speed and coverage ability. The 10th overall pick is an ideal fit and leader for this unit. He will post gaudy numbers as an inside 'backer for Mike Tomlin.

3) Nick Bosa, DE, San Francisco 49ers: This franchise has invested mightily in its defensive line in recent years, but it still had a huge need for an edge defender. Enter Bosa! Many had him pegged as the best player in the draft. Congrats, Niners, on things working out perfectly for you. It's not like teams can just focus on taking Bosa away with DeForest Buckner and Dee Ford on the line with him (although he will have to share the spotlight/production with them).

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Ohio State pass rusher Nick Bosa with the second overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, but a number of left-leaning 49ers fans were not happy.

In the months leading up to the draft, Bosa deleted a number of tweets in which he called Colin Kaepernick a "clown," Beyonce's music "complete trash," and Black Panther the "worst Marvel movie."

Bosa is a supporter of President Donald Trump, and once said in an interview he is a "big fan" of then-candidate Trump.

"Yes, big fan," Bosa said at the time. "He brings a charisma that no other candidate has [had] in my lifetime."

Bush could have an advantage in this, if Steelers perform like a top 5 defense in 2019, he will get most of the credit.

Ed landed in an excellent spot for him....after he breaks brady in half he will either be kicked out of the league or handed every major award at the end of the season
 
Since Oliver didn’t win the Heisman the “ sack master “ is being hyped as rookie of the year by some crazy fool in Houston. Boy I didn’t miss a thing!

same tired old arguments. Everyone knew the Heisman was an extremely unlikely possibility...and Oliver is a TFL master

Oh and were exactly did Devin White go in the draft? I believe you were off on that bet also.....

yep, but this was a preseason article written by some guy coach must know lives in Houston.....

and most likely it will be some guy out of left field who destroys the competition this season and wins the award.....
