Tomlin's 15th loss since 2009 to Teams With a Combined .219 Winning Percentage

Missed tackles seemed to be a team wide thing today. Coaching doesn't have to be just scheming/X's and O's. If many guys are missing tackles, it could indicate a lack of focus which. If it were one or two guys, then you could say "that guy lacked focus and kept overpursuing, he had a bad game". But it seemed like no one could make a simple tackle unless there were 4 guys there. Nobody was bringing it in the tackling department. I can't help but look to the coaches and think - was this the plan? Did they tell these guys "aggressively pursue your first instinct on a play and overpursue if you have to in order to make splash plays"? Were they just overlooking the quality of Chicago's RBs and weren't mentally up for giving their best hustle/effort because they thought there was no way those guys would run on them? Either way, it really feels mental when things like this happen. We see what these guys are capable of when they are playing their best. When a large number of plays AREN'T at their best - it suggests being in the wrong place mentally. So my argument isn't just that the "scheme" was wrong. When I say they aren't "prepared" for the game, I'm not just talking about the X's and O's and the game plan (although I think that's part of it). I also think the place the players are in MENTALLY is absolutely the wrong place. And that is part of the coaches' jobs as well. Get them in the right place mentally. I mean - that's basically Tomlin's main job since he leaves the ins and outs of the scheming and development to assistants.

Why does this have to happen after every loss.
I get people wanting to vent their frustrations, especially after losing to a team everyone under the sun thought we should win handily.
But I don't understand the whole, "We lost because or Tomlin" or "We lost because of Ben" or "We lost because of playcalling" or "We lost because of lack of focus" etc.
The TEAM lost yesterday. All 53 players, the practice squad, the entire coaching staff, the trainers, EVERYONE that helps prepare for and is there on the sideline on Sunday. They all lost.
And they ALL lost because they ALL did not do their job enough to win. Period.
There's never going to be one reason we lost.
The Steelers lost on multiple fronts, not a singular one.
1) It's therapeutic for us, as fans, to vent and point to the problems we see because we are upset and need an outlet
2) If enough fans are having the same conversations all over the place, it is possible that the conversation can become national. If enough media pick up a talking point, it can spark change. I really just think, as fans, we feel helpless because we can't do anything personally to help the team. So we start conversations probably deep down hoping enough people think the same things and it might actually get through to the people who CAN do something about it.

Lol I do the research on a known? And now it is only star players or starters? Cowher benched Kordell. benched Ike.

No one is talking about a bad QB im talking about your starting players or stars exactly like i was from the beginning. Shazier missed 6 tackles what coach is taking him out. And Ike was hardly a star when that happened

I said rotate in not take completely out. There is a difference or is it you don't know that either? But benching is their option too. And go ahead full yourself that that hasn't happened.

Rotate who?? Shazier for who???? What established starter has this happened with? Again tell me

If we don't see/hear about Slash's candidacy once Mike Tomlin is gone - I, for one, will be very upset considering his astute knowledge for coaching an NFL team...as a matter fact, just apply for any open coaching role - prove us wrong.

Tomlin yearly is yearly proving my points.

If you want to know worthy candidates, research. They are out there.

Im ignorant but you havent pointed out any instances of an established starter being juggled in and out the lineup for poor play

lmao

yes you are ignorant I gave you two players. And that was with even looking back at rosters.

I will only say this, the in game adjustments ******* suck. I thought they found something that worked by allowing Ben to dump the ball off on short drag or crossing routes and check downs to Le'Veon. We did that and scored and then we never went back to it. Chucking the ball down field is nice and all, but not when our QB is inaccurate and guys aren't helping him out with dropped balls.

The defense, ****, we can't defend a cutback runner for ****. Stay in your lane and stop overcommitting.

This showed a great lack of preparation for a team that was immensely one dimensional. Nice work Tomlin and company.

You gave **** Kordell sucked everyone knows that. Hardly considered a established starter. And neither was ike.

Did you forget the game tying drive, Bell had a dump off pass go right through his hands, if he catches that it's easily a first down, and he may score the winner because he had a ton of room, but he dropped it and we tied the game

Drafted in 1970. Split time with Hanratty. Sucked monkey balls for two years. 1974 open competition in training camp lost his job. Got it back team went on to win lwoB repuSs was never replaced until he got hurt and retired. So when was he an established starter and juggled in and out of games? FOH

you are trying too hard derp

Heading into the 1974 season, Terry Bradshaw was a four-year veteran. He had taken over the Steelers quarterback position and led the team to a combined 19-4 record in 1972 and 1973. His numbers were fairly pedestrian, but it also seemed as if he had locked down his position four years after the Steelers had made him the No. 1 overall draft pick.

A coach should make substitutions when needed, despite your derpy stance. I disagree with you completely. No matter what off the wall **** you spew.

To me there is a preperation and playcalling issue. Many if us said this for the first two weeks and were shot down with "what bad team did they lose to?" This years answer the Chicago Bears that will win three more games. Tomlin is a stiff and Todd is worse.
