Tomlin weekly press conference

Talking about penalties on offense. Gotta cut those down.

We missed too many tackles on defense.
 
MRI on Ben, MCL sprain. He's going to be out several weeks. Definitely out this week. Will have more details on him, his rehab and his rehab process. Will address more on Friday.

Shazier shoulder still unknown.

McCullers still working his knee. Has to practice to play.

Cortez Allen, knee inflamed, hasn't been able to practice fully over last several weeks. Has to practice and sustain to play.
 
Debo has a thumb that's being evaluated.

Spaeth has a fractured hand. Might play with hand cast.

Now talking about the Rats.....owen three, lmao
 
Has he said anything on why Boykin can't get on the field, even with Cortez hurt? I don't like this at all
 
Nothing on Boykin. Still talking about the Rats. Might get one of the reporters to ask about Boykin but my guess is he will get 50 Ben questions worded slightly different and not much else.
 
MT: Have to adjust with Vick and put together a gameplan that isn't predictable.

Rats are probably happy about playing us on short week with the circumstances (Ben being hurt).
 
First Q on Vick being up to speed on offense

Not going to ask Vick to execute the offense like they would with Ben in the game. Ben been with Haley 3 years, in town for 10. Going to work in Vick's comfort zone to put us in best position to win game.
 
MT: I didn't assume it was a season ending injury. I don't spend a lot of time speculating.

I'm not going to be critical of the hit or officiating. League sent letter last week not to talk about this.

Ben's a been there done that guy. Not worried about Ben.

I'm not worried about the rest of the season. Worried about our preparation today to win Thursday night. Will see the fans Thursday night.

Shazier working on regaining his shoulder. Will hold him out til its back.

Spence & Williams will split time until Shazier is back. Both guys high energy guys. Likes our depth at the position.

Going to rally around Vick this week.
 
Talking about Shazier being out and LBs missing some coverage assignments.

Landry Jones, wouldn't have kept him on the team if they didn't feel he could be the #2 QB.
 
Vick was in early today. This isn't his first rodeo.

No comment on Martavis' situation (should be back Friday). He's dealing with some things bigger than football.

Don't anticipate roster move to add QB (to team or PS)
 
Will do what's appropriate to with the left handed QB v having a righty.

Thought Mitchell & Allen played well together. Liked the collective effort of the defense.

Boykin question!!!!! Will develop gameplan and do what's appropriate for the matchup this week.
 
Still don't know what happened to Shazier. I saw the injury against the 49ers. He led with his head and put himself in a bad position. He was moving his shoulder as though he had a stinger. Now he is in a sling as though he has a structural shoulder injury. I don't get it. That looked about as neurological as it could.

he has a Cutler-type injury, whereas Cutler hurt his hand, then his arm, his shoulder, and finally his hamstring.
all on one play.
 
Man I think Shaz can be a huge factor for this defense but like most here have to be concerned with his durability. He has got to find a way to stay healthy and on the field and thank God for depth with Spence and Williams.
 
Did nobody ask about the asinine decision to bench the AFC-LEADING rusher?
 
You guys know Shazier never missed a game in college right? Sometimes nagging injuries happen and he's had some bad luck. Lets just hope he gets back and stays healthy

What would the point have been to rush williams? Clearly we weren't going to get a running game going against their front 7.. then front 9 when Vick came in.
