Tomlin took the loss hard.

I was trying to let this post sink. I never said I am aware of the confines of a locker room. Re-read what I said and please do not put words in my mouth.

The best coaches as defined by who's in the hall of fame who has won a lot of playoff games, as far as I'm aware do not cry after losing a divisional playoff game. Especially if they have already won a super bowl! Ours did. Maybe he regrets not kicking an FG or calling a low percentage play on 3rd and 1 ( the bomb ). Face facts' Bermuda, Tomlin is 1-4 in his last 5 playoff games and the " 1 " was pretty much gift wrapped by one of the dumbest franchises of all time. How in your world or any is this good? The Steelers have better talent than the record shows. I see a bad trend, not a one game fluke here, Bermuda, and the Steelers have lost too many games to inferior competition during the regular season, which hurts in playoff seeding.

You might not see it, or have a mental block examining the reasons why.

Face the fact Coach: Tomlin is 1-1 in his last 2 playoff games. Think about that before you misuse statistics to support a non valid point.

We outplayed both opponents this year for 3 QTRS each game. One we won, one we lost, simple as that. Could we have won or lost either? Sure we could have, but that's why it's a game. The outcome is never certain.

Though I do like the way our team competed in the playoffs this year, and with the heart this team has, I'm optimistic that our team will be adding to the win column next year.
 
Wish the old board archives were available. A lot of the same **** people say about Tomlin were said about Cowher. Don't give a **** who the coach is, there's always going to be a select group not happy unless we hoist the Lombardi trophy at the end of the season and even then they are sourpusses for having to eat their ******* words.

Ironically, they seem to be most active after we win a game. When we lose and everyone is pissed and complaining, they don't stand out and get attention. But when we win, they get a ton of mileage out of pissing in everyone's Corn Flakes, suggesting we were lucky etc. I imagine those folks are pretty lonely individuals in real life.

Anyway, if you don't look at the 2015 Steelers and see a pretty damn impressive performance from the coaching staff, then I'd say your head is pretty far up your ***.

Wow! You have managed to double down on the stupidty level of your argument. This was a man crying in response to the pride and he felt in his players and the heartbreak of losing a game when you know you left it all on the field. I have great respect for this show of emotion from him. people complain that he has a deer in the headlights look sometimes on the sideline, well this is a great motivational tool for his team. They know he has their backs and will be their for them. This is the type of game that can bring a group together adn push them to the next level. Properly used emotion like this can help a team overcome other shortcomings and be a cohesive machine rather than a bunch of spoiled brats complaining about their individual stats. This is what seperates Coaches like Tomilin and coaches like Marvin Lewis who are there for their players but don't know how to mold and control them into a winner. I played football on a variety of different types of teams and I can tell you personal experience the one Coach I had who most resembled Tomlins coaching style and personaltiy was the only one I would still run though walls for to this day. The day I had to go to his office and tell him we were moving to Ohio was one of the hardest things I ever had to do as a kid. We both had tears in our eyes that day. There also was not a dry eye n our lockeroom that year after losing to Mt. Pleasant in the WPIAL semis on a dropped 2 point conversion. The seniors who had always been so scary and tough showed alot of emotion that day.

Coach you are so wrong on this one. I almost think you are just trying to stir things up. You can't possibly truley believe this.
 
Tomlin usually gets the most votes when NFL players are polled with the question "which coach would you most like to play for?" And the fact that he shed some tears probably only increases his standing among players on the team right now and around the league. It's 2016 and today's players want warmth, emotion and personality from their coach...they aren't interested in an old-school boss and subordinate relationship.

Exhibit A is how many Eagles hated playing for Chip Kelly because he has the personality and warmth of a chess-playing robot...Coach, maybe the 49ers are the team you've been looking for!

The only complaint I have would be the losses to Baltimore (first on Scobee not on the coaches) and then OBVIOUSLY that second game was a clusterfuck with the defense getting throttled. They should have dialed in more blitzes. Can't lose to **** teams anymore.

This team has a built in excuse this year, injuries decimated the team at almost all points of the year. We need our draft picks to start sticking on defense. Not to be cliche, but the arrow is pointing up with this team and we need to take advantage of Ben's last few seasons because its going to be a desolate place to be without a viable franchise QB after Ben.

We absolutely need to take care of the Ravens next year, no excuses there. We can't go 3-3 in the division again because we need to put together a 12-4 season that gets us either the #1 or #2 seed. I do think Butler got the message from the second Ravens game, though. He admitted that he has to be more aggressive when calling a game. That's why this talk about playing more Cover 2 defense makes no sense at all...unless you have as much talent on defense as the Seahawks, you can't afford to play a predictable scheme on defense --- you've got to mix up your coverages and bring pressure from a lot of different areas and all 3 levels of the defense.

I think they are a couple of pieces away on defense a couple of good draft picks and some jumps in player development from guys already on the defense will be huge next year.

Gives a pretty immediate insight into someone's character doesn't it? As soon as they start that routine it's like, "Ok I see what this guy is all about". I'm sure the people that have to deal with them in real life start rolling their eyes every time they open their mouth on a subject because they already know what is coming. They are that one person in every group that loves nothing more than to take a big, fat **** on something that everyone else in the group is pretty pleased about. They may not even have a strong opinion on the subject but something in them tells them that they have to be a contrarian.....about everything. Makes them feel special for whatever reason.

I think this last season helpede mature Coach tomlin in a positive way. I know these playoff games matured him in a big way. He put his heart and soul into these two playoff games and we could see it translate to the field of play. As head coach, he gets the blame for everything and that should include wins / losses / game adjustments / etc.. To only give him the bad or just the good, would not be a fare shake. NEXT year, we will get the head scratchers, the great game, the WTFs, but all told, we'll get the Tomlin as coach. A good thing.

He's a a damn good coach. I can be critical of the guy. But given the the teams history of expectations. Fans want the ring every year. As all fans do. But the realist in me understands. The Steelers, historically speaking build a "dynasty" over time. And Tomlin is handling and building the situation as is
