Tomlin to NBC

...When he starts to speak

Taking his mentor Dungy's spot. Good for him. Unlike many no ill will. Just glad to be heading a different direction. I think he will be excellent on TV.

I don’t think there is as much “ill will” out there as some think.

I do think there is a lot of been there done that / need a break from / tired of the same old BS and need some time away things out there.

I don’t think many are truly wishing bad on him, just need a break from him.

Really Iron City.......look above.🤣

Sorry, not meaning you, but speaking in general and less ill will than some here think.

I really respect the things you write, but you are full of it here. You started a thread on if Tomlin should attend the draft. As if any of us have a right to even an opinion on that. Its the USA, he can do whatever he wants.

Thank you diver, I have great respect for your post(s) as well.

As in that thread of his attendance to the draft, I was getting the public view of such.
Myself, I’m tired of him and need less, for awhile.

I do not harbor any “ill-will” towards him of any kind. I only know the man through his coaching if the STEELERS.

Like all past Steelers player / coaches / FO / Owners, I always wish them well in their life’s work.

He will add to the comradery of the football night in America and I will be able to choose to watch or
not watch (note: i don’t currently watch it at all but will tune into check it out a time or two)

This is a message board and meaning can be miss-interpreted, very easily and often. Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough.

The Steelers may also be famous for having the most ex-players/coaches to become national TV commentators.

Terry Bradshaw FOX
Merrill Hodge ESPN
Mark Malone ESPN
Bill Cowher CBS
Jerome Bettis NBC
Hines Ward NBC
Tony Dungy NBC
Ryan Clark ESPN
Rod Woodson NFL Network, Westwood One
Ike Taylor NFL Network
Bryant McFadden CBS
James Harrison - Guest star on Fox Sports
Lynn Swann ABC (college level)
Rocky Blier -IMDb credits him as a color commentator on "The NFL on NBC".
And now Mike Tomlin NBC

Also a long list of local TV and radio commentators which would be a given.

Man I'm not going to comment on the outside noise. It's just all popcorn from a bunch of nameless gray faces. We're not going to blink in the adversity of network television. We'll cut off our eyelids. There's a fine line between squishing grapes and drinking wine.

hope he fails horribly. not because of hate. just want hm to go back to coaching an NFL team and the Steelers get compensated.

Those are good points, and understand people feel that way. I just look at it differently. I was tired of him as a coach, but outside of injury updates, I didn't listen to anything he said anyway. I probably won't listen to him anymore now than I did when he was the coach. I don't have any axe to grind or anything, and I don't mean it as dislike of or disrespect to him, it's just that coaches all do coachspeak, or they say whatever comes to mind to get them through perhaps uncomfortable questions. They all do it, Tomlin was no exception, and what we can control is our reaction to it. So I just tuned out after hearing about injuries.

I read "Three Bricks Shy of a Load" when I was young and there was a snippet in there in which someone over heard Myron Cope talking to Chuck Noll. The guy's reaction to that was from that point on, Myron Cope as an oracle of information about the Steelers was dead to him. That always stuck with me. They aren't gonna give you any real information anyway, so why bother getting to invested in listening?

Just because some don't want to hear him, doesn't mean there's ill will. I don't want to listen to his Tomlinism's anymore, the national fans that haven't heard it for 18 years might like it, I for one can't stand it anymore, and seeing where our team has been under him for the past decade, I think alot of Steeler fans are sick of him, that doesn't mean they have ill will.
