I'm as hard on Tomlin as anyone, but damn if they aren't making some halftime adjustments and generally getting the team ready for each week. This game sure 'nough started out rough from a defensive point certainly, but they went ahead and made the half adjustments that significantly slowed down the Rats. Sure Jackson got off a couple decent throws when the defense made some assignment gaffes, but generally speaking they were very solid in the 2nd half.

The offense... Well, It's hard to say what Fichtner is doing early on. As mentioned it really seems like the Steelers have 2 modes with the Ravens. Play scared or play to beat hell. Playing scared generally results in minimal results with the Ravens. I can understand playing for field position in a game like this, but even THAT wasn't panning out. It wasn't until they pretty much went no-huddle spread and just said, "heck with it, we're going balls to the wall" that things kinda started to work out. (Personally, I would have had a couple more run attempts in the 2nd half, but hey - it worked out pretty darn well in the end.)

So, ultimately, kudos to Tomlin et. al. Now lets see them crush the Cowboys next week in a game they are supposed to win.
