They suck monkey balls and are gonna get their QB killed . Green seems to know he isn't up to par and this might be his last chance. Next season he will be cut if he doesn't improve.

Whoever vouched for him in the scouting room should be fired.

Thats the first thing I always think about. Green is absolutely terrible.
There's got to be somebody out there better.

Cut him this year if he doesn’t improve by next week

Looking forward to how the OL unit responds but I think the horses are not high enough pedigree. Not near enough invested into the most important unit on offense. Sooner than later they are going to have to draft top tier picks, good ones.

A retired Big AL would be better. I don't see how they can roll into the season like this.

Million dollar offensive weapons with a 10 cent line.

Exact same concern last year and we were screwed from day one. Our HOF QB made is better but everyone blames him for the crappy offensve line because it was his "can't move" that was the problem.

We might get some relief once thay set the starters and let them focus and play next to each other.

All we can do is hope for the best. Maybe they can pick up someone early on.

It’s crazy because Green had moments at the beginning of the year last season where he looked good sprinkled in with a some not so good moments. Especially when he was able to get to the 2nd level. For some reason he can’t put it together? His lack of strength and technique is obvious. He ends up on the ground, being spun around or completely getting run over by lesser talent. I think Colbert/scouts saw some traits in his game at the college level and thought they would carry over to the pros even if they had to move him to guard but obviously that didn’t work out.

It also amazes me how we went from having one of the best olines in football maybe 3-4 years ago to having one of the worst.

Tomlin and the Steelers front office assembled this line thinking it would be adequate. This is going on three years in a row they'll be one of the worst in the league. The coaching staff let the rookies off the hook last year despite struggling, especially Green. I'm glad he's calling them out, but when you lack starting talent this is what you're going to get.

I feel that is exactly it. As if to say ..."This group should be good enough; all we really need are big fat bodies"

Who was the last stud O lineman we drafted? DeCastro in 2012? Pouncey was in 2010.
Geeez.

The Steelers spent a ton of draft capital in 2019 to get Devin Bush, spent their 2020 #1 on Fitzpatrick, then took a WR #2, passed on Creed Humphrey twice in 2021, and passed on OL in the first 3 rounds in 2022.

I understand that teams can find good OLman later in the draft and most teams do. The Steelers have not been able to do so. They have gambled on outsmarting other teams by finding underranked gems later in the draft and that approach has failed.

Miserably.

cole actually was good out there, he is just supporting his crappy colleagues
Cole doesn't concern me. I think Daniels will settle in. Chukes will be what we know. They should take the weakest rostered G and T and see if they can trade or final cut down some competition.

When guys like LeGlue come in off the street (last year) and look like massive upgrades by playing almost average it shows you how bad the suck was t before him.

Keeping guys around that are literally bringing nothing to the table because they were drafted early is just adding a mistake on top of the previous mistake…it fixes absolutely nothing and in time can contribute to a culture of entitlement.

I’d send both Bush and Green packing and send a clear message, but that would take balls/conviction and the ability to admit when you’re wrong I’m not sure these are top traits of the HC…but it sure as well may light a fire under some players.

The OL is definitely not playing up to a NFL caliber standard and should be ripped, but words without action are meaningless so maybe give ‘em one more game to see if they magically show improvement post tongue lashing, but I’m certainly not holding my breath on it.

I am with you and in theory that sounds good. I would love to send the two packing. But you can't deplete depth without bringing in something equal or greater than. I would like them to do exactly that. That is a problem Omarlin have to solve to improve the roster.

Didn't see this posted, so now I get to start a thread!

It's about time Tomlin calls out the O line...specifically Green.

Greene interview. Does anyone else get the impression he thinks it's a joke?.
Unless Tomlin is looking in a mirror, calling out his own stupidity and chewing his own *** out I really don't care. The joke, the funny thing is you could see this OL disaster coming and Tomlin is the leader of it.

The Steelers had a choice when Ben hung it up... Rebuild the core OL/DL/LBs or choose door 2, it's all good and low end cast-offs are the way to a Championship.

I saw a YouTube vid from Alex Kozora and how Pat Meyers blocking goes. It’s a win first idea. Lots of attacking first. Mason Cole made mention that people need to get more aggressive and after listening to the design that’s exactly what needs to be done. It’s not an overwhelming complicated system. Gotta see foot placement and position of DL and that determines what you do. But the gist of it is you don’t back pedal as much but attack the LOS. It’s definitely new to everyone and you can see how uncomfortable they are. Not sure if the team is built to run this or not. Maybe see if there’s any offensive linemen available that has run this and bring them in. Maybe bring Andrew Whitworth in to help coach a little. Idk
