Why the hell can he answer questions about NE with Dungy, but he can't give a straight truthful answer about QB sneaks. He was asked why they've gtten away from those, and his answer "I don't know that we have gotten away from those"
Haven't run one since 2014.

Tom you know who you’re talking about here. The man has been elusive and vague in these press conferences since he’s been here.
You heard Ben this morning say he’s fine with running QB sneaks to get a yard. Tomlin has told him he’s not a young guy any longer so that’s been abandoned.
That’s stupid. Brady is 40 and Brees is 39 and not even 6’ but they run them.
The more this guy opens his mouth the more ridiculous he sounds.

Same ****, different week. Tomlin just loves to hear himself talk, even if 90% of it makes no sense or is blatantly untrue.

I tell you a scenario I would fire Tomlin. As a owner you pull him in for a meeting. You ask him, under the same exact conditions, would you kick the on side kick again or kick the ball down the field?

If he says kick the onside kick, you fire him immediately.

I can excuse a dumbfuck approach if you learn from it. But if you can't or won't. You are doing nothing but holding us back.

Same ****. Different day....

He's not going anywhere....The Steelers have not fired a head coach since the 60s. Don't see MT retiring anytime soon.

fair to say the leash is shortened though

Did he say we're still going to unleash hell on the Pats?

Unfortunately.... Dumb *** coach..

We did not lose the game due to the onside kick. We lost because we were losing 21-0 and 28-7 and could not get off the damn field on 3rd down. I do not have a problem with trying the onside kick. You have 2 chances of getting the ball back which are a recovery and if you stop them they would kick it away. By kicking it deep you only get it back if you stop them which we had proven time and time again we could not do. One first down by the Jags in either scenario and we lose the game anyways. The onside kick was executed terribly. Even with a normal failure the Jags probably would have had to get a first down to get to FG range. As I said earlier with or without the FG if they got a first down the game was over anyways. I can not stand Tomlin as a coach and would love nothing more to see that he has been fired, but the onside kick attempt is not one of the reasons. I have more of an issue with the one timeout we seemed to blow for no reason I think it was around the 3:00 mark but I forget exactly.

Success rates for onside kicks is horrific. If you have no ******* confidence in your D defending a long field, why would you have confidence in them defending a short field? No matter how you spin it that was a ******* stupid *** call. Even if he kicked it correctly, high odds is that the Steelers wouldn't have recovered.

You don't play a fools game and then be surprised when you you come out looking like a idiot.

This happens way to often with this coaching staff and then the cliche's come out hoping we are so impressed we forget the IDIOT part.
UNDER achiever and he is lucky to have such talent for players. Both OC & DC need to go right along with this head coach cool shades.

Salute the nation

Some odds are better than no odds.

What were the odds we would score 42 and lose or the jags would score 45. I bet they were not high

At this stage Tomlin reminds me of Romo, a great season performer. But nothing in the playoffs. (Talking about what is showing now)

And even worse Butler, that cluster **** of a D continued to be out of position and lost.

And don't forget I will run this play even if the odds show it won't work Haley.

Don't these people research ****?

Sometimes the coaching just screams of I am smarter than stats and will prove my way works, ego failistic approach to play-calling and game time decisions.

All three have shown these tendencies...

thing is there was time outs and there was better odds that the D could defend a longer field.

You are giving yourself a better chance to win. So that is the approach that needed to be taken.

That onside is when they could just kneel and win....

again a stupid ******* call

Why would he give such a no-answer answer? It's almost as if he really doesn't know that it's been since 2014. Does he have a clue?

I do not have a problem going for the on-side either. If Boz executes, we either get the ball, or they do at the 45-50. You still need a 3 and out. Even if they get the ball at the 45, gain 7-8 yards, you are looking at a 55 yard FG attempt. IMO, it's not just about a 10% of getting the ball.

Barring something catastrophic, nope. He could have back to back .500 season like he did few years back and he’d be back coaching in 2020.

agree , he can still do it , please, the guys alot more powerful then the other 2

Both probable scenarios involve the Jags having the ball. The one way away from field goal range is the one you go with.

A few might not have a problem with the call, it doesn't make it less stupid.

Yeah especially when you have 2:20 left, kick it in the end zone, no time gone, stop them on 1st, time out, stop on 2nd down timeout, hopefully stop on 3rd down then 2 min warning, they are punting from around their own 30 with two minutes left.
Inside kick if you don't get it, and you hold they are punting from around the 50, and have a chance to pin you inside the 10.
