I hope Hawkins pushes or shows he is worth as a swing T as after next year I want him at Rt and Chukes the long term LT after 2 years.

I bet Chucks wins this. Most talented of the three, but also prob best LT backup out of the three.

I'm thinking that Chuks, eventually, wins it even if not by game 1.

We're gonna need to draft a LT eventually. Not sure Hawkins is the answer at RT. He hasn't been able to stay healthy at all.

I'll say this - when the kid was healthy at LSU - he's a baller.

Best wishes to all of the men but my money is on Hawkins...

Hawkins when healthy did not impress much I’m camp. I favor Feiler. He’s strong as can be and held up just fine in pass protection over a string of games.

I like the guys vying for the position...just kinda (very) nervous about replacing Munch. Huge loss.

One would think every position is being competed for...

Totally agree with you. as a coach myself, if every position isn't open for the taking, you get a lack of effort from those players who think they have their spot locked up. Competition is what it is all about and makes everyone better and ready to play when their time comes. We all know injuries occur all the time in football so depth is amajor concern at every position.

I'm curious as to what level of a coach you are??? WHO / what age / position(s) do you coach???

Salute the nation

I have been coaching for 28 years. Started coaching the young kids 4th to 6th grade for over 20 years, moved up to junior high and have coached at the high school level the last 3 years. I was a high school QB in my day, a long time ago hence the name QB coach. I coach QB's, wide receivers and defensive backs. I'm 62 so my health is failing (spinal stenosis) from getting blind sided too many times in high school and may have to give up coaching this year. It is my passion, I love working with the kids. One of the kids I coached will be in the draft this year from Penn State (Kevin Givens, defensive tackle). What a fine young man he is. I would love to see the Steelers give him a shot in the later rounds. He left us as a 235 lb fullback and defensive end and know his is up to 285. This kid does not have an ounce of fat on him and is strong as a bull. Finished 3rd in the bench press among 30 D lineman at the combine. Would have liked to see him stay one more year at PSU to increase his draft stock but he was advised to leave.
