By Matt Papiernik,*@Matt_Papiernik*on Twitter SteelerNation.com   When Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin answered questions from the media this week, quite a few questions ended up revolving around star wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Tomlin was asked about JuJu’s birthday, what he adds to the team, and how he fits within the social structure of the […]

JuJu is the type of person the Rooneys like to keep because he represents the Steelers so well in the community. We could see an usual Steeler contract for him, less money per year, but with big guaranteed money/signing bonus.

JuJu having two relatively "down" years certainly will help the Steelers keep him. Another benefit is you got Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin as free agents. Teams will also be intrigued with T.Y. Hilton and Sammy Watkins because of the speed factor. Still gonna be tough with JuJu as a top-3 UFA receiver.

I would’ve doubted this last year and early this year. What changed my is that Juju has set a selfless demeanor among the wide receivers. The Young Money Crew is gone. He does play hard and doesn’t skimp on blocking downfield for the backs, tight ends and other receivers. Whether it’s for the Steelers or another team- I would agree he is a future nfl captain.

Juju has the “it” factor. It goes beyond X’s and O. He has a James Farrior,, Hines Ward, Jerome Bettis type leadership quality. And, when you need a play on offense, Who do you turn to? You have to find a way to keep him.

When Ben leaves, who assumes that leadership mantle? Right now we have Cam and Pouncey. But who among the young guys is the next man up?

JuJu has shown to be a selfless team player whose is just as happy with someone else getting TDs as him. He just wants to win. Hopefully, resigning him will be a priority as he does fit the Steelers mold. He already has a brand as well influenced by Pittsburgh the city itself (TM “Littsburgh”, has the deal with Giant Eagle too). Would hope he remains a Steeler.

This. Plus, with a Bud resigning probably out, hopefully we can sign JUJu. Money permitting, I’d almost say he earned a second contract based on this one act:
