I like to **** on Duce as much as the next guy, but at one time, he was leading the league in rushing after 9 weeks...

If I recall correctly, we were down to just Duce in one game, the GB game, and we needed to win it to make the playoffs the year of the 2005 Super Bowl. If we lose that game, we miss
the playoffs. We won, with help from Duce. It may have been the only thing he did all that season, but he helped us win that game, so for that reason alone, he was worth signing (although
at the time of his signing I was screaming to the Heavens it was a bad FA signing and he had been washed up for 2 years prior).

It WAS still a bad signing, but that one game made it better.

Didn't someone punch him in the quad or hamstring and that basically ****** him for the year? He was a damn bull when he was healthy. The problem is after he got hurt he was never healthy again.

Philly had very little on offense other than Duce during his time there. They ran the wheels off him. He knew his stint in Pitt was his last big payday, and he had no intention of killing himself at that point.

I don't remember the punch, but it's nearly impossible to injure a hamstring/quad by punching it. He was a big man, and was pretty nimble, I think he just cut and got hit when his momentum was going the other way.

Dude was a load in Philly. I was living there and caught a lot of his games when the Steelers weren't playing. I was happy about the sign, and he started hot, he just got injured. Happens to the best of us...

He DID get punched but I don't think the punch was the injury that side-lined him for so long. I remember the slow motion showing it plain as day, can't remember who the puncher was though. I'm pretty sure he didn't come out of the game exactly after the punch.

Duce Staley probably

Actually it was Mikey Cool Shades.

I own a very rare autographed 8x10 of Duce Staley in a Steelers uniform running with the football.

It was during a Ravens game. He was running all over them. I believe it was Ray Lewis.

.....rayray had probably just taken a "Jack snort" of his antler powder and you know how crazy that makes him..... Probably was just punching wild and Duece happened to get in the way........... I'm sure rayray has forgiven Duece for that mishap................. On the bright side, Ray Ray got credited for 3 solo tackles on that one play.........
