Wait a minute, wait a minute...then the Giants cheated to beat the piece of **** Cheatriots...because I'm pretty sure Kraft's butt buddy Goodell would make some sort of rule making it illegal to change a team's signals before such a crucial game. Damn that tricky Coughlin for not following the league narrative and actually trying to beat the effing mass holes

To me what makes a good coach is getting the most out of your players. Talent will only get you so far and it is yup to the coach to make that talent work.
I do not care about the W L column. The Steelers are very talented on offense. We had an upper tier oline. A top qb, arguably the best Wr and Rb in the league. The offense did not get it done. I feel they have under performed the last couple years.
As for the defense it gets a partial pass due to talent level, but coaches are partially to blame for the lack of talent. I don't feel like a top 5 coach would emplore a game plan against the pats that has gotten you torched over and over and over in previous meetings. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I believe tomlin is a snake oil salesman. I think you could insert a lot of coaches around the league onto the steelers and get better results on the field

You don't seem to be the only one to think this, but it makes no sense to me. It is clear that they aren't getting better results on a consistent basis or they would be. Every other coach has the same issues with the *'s, but Tomlin is the only one that doesn't get it?
Wouldn't those coaches have brought in talent similar to what they have on their current teams? Would they have hired the same OC/DC's they have? Or do you mean, if those coaches could use the talent Tomlin put together, they would have better results but they suck at putting the talent together?
No no no no, the narrative is the narrative.....only Tomlin's defensive gameplans fail against the Patriots.....duh

Tomlin or whoever has done a good job of getting offensive talent. I don't know if it is scouting or what. However the defense has been another story. It seems we finally got a few solid players, but it took several tries to get there.
To answer your question i was referring simply to the coaching aspect. Just swap tomlin with someone else and i think we would get better results. The new coach can bring in new coordinators if he chooses. The biggest issues i see are not exploiting other teams weaknesses and very little adjustments during the game. To me that us the purpose of a coach. If the coordinators are not doing it then the coach needs to get after them.

I realize the pats beat up on alot of teams, but we are supposed to be elite. Also we do the same damn thing everytime. At least try something new. If you don't habe the skill on D you need to get creative. Dropping your best pass rushers into coverage is definitely not the answer

Or you go out and bring a few players in that can do the things your current players can't do via the draft or FA. It is just now it seems they are trying to draft players that can press. FA ....well we rarely go that route. Why the status quo for the last half of decade is mind boggling.
They place too much value on the players they already have because they "know the system", even if they suck.
Remember, Landry Jones "knows the system" and Zach Mettenberger did not.
Jason Worilds and Jarvis Jones knew the system too.
Carroll ****** up that SB sure as ****. No question, but they have a great culture going in Seattle. No one gets complacent or they are gone. They don't hold onto guys too long and the best football player plays. This **** with Jarvis Jones wouldn't have happened there. His *** would have been gone after year two or at bare minimum he wouldn't have seen the field.

Jarvis would've got at least 22 sacks and 8 fumbles a year under Coach Carrol Noll Lombardi, surely he wouldn't have been cut but coached up to be a perennial pro bowler future HOF linebacker...he was never used properly, he'd look good in black and gold again!
He'd look good in Black and Gold.....in New Orleans....
