Steve McLendon /Cam Thomas - They can spin it however they want....... upgrade needed, NT position diminishing. But neither was retained on a team that is trying to improve a mediocre defense.. Tuitt and Heyward was on the field entirely too long. Draft pick? look for a first or second round pick in this area. More-so to rotate with the two top DE's and less to fill the vacant NT position. Steelers looked at college prospects Billings and Butler. B on the lookout for one of these two to be drafted. It also been noted that this draft is top heavy at DT/DE.
chances of a 1st round selection? 75%
chances of a 2nd round selection? 25%
Antwon Blake/ Brandon Boykin - We can also spin this as........ not good enough or just not a good fit. But two man leave the thunderdome, chances are one new man enters. I see it as the roster sits one outside corner and two slot corners. So with the plethora of corners slated to visit prior to the draft, I can see that is what will be targeted. Thing is I see more value slated for the second round, Perhaps a trade down in 1, or a trade up in 2. Or stand pat in 2 and draft BPA. And in 1 history of the position doesn't favor a corner.
chances of a 1st round selection? 25%
chances of a 2nd round selection? 75%
Will Allen - I am not going to pretend Golden is the answer, and judging by the size of his new contract perhaps you shouldn't either. What is curious to me is this draft seems to have decent S depth from 2 thru perhaps 4. And if all fails, there is safeties that still can be brought in after the draft. If nothing else as a one year stop gap.
chances of a 1st round selection 10%
chances of a 2nd round selection 25%
chances of a 3rd round selection 65%
Martavis Bryant - What you say we haven't lost him? Maybe not just yet, and yet maybe there is 33% chance he will never wear the Black N Gold uniform again. Either way Steelers always seem to have their eyes open at the position. And aren't afraid to bring in a rd 3 -6 BPA. I seriously doubt we will see one in round 1 or 2.
chances of a 3rd round selection 20%
chances of a 4th round selection 45%
chances of a 6th round selection 35%
Sean Spence /Terence Garvin - depth took a hit and one could argue both can be replaced within the roster. Spence was a nice story to follow, but let's face it he is replaceable. Garvin was a special teams player that, I doubt your dream pattern makes mention. I think a OLBer would get dibs at this point over a inside Lber. So I will focus in at that position. With Jarvis and Dupree and Deebo probable to return, just don't see a round 1 prospect coming aboard. More-so with the lack of value that I project that won't be there come 25.
chances of a 2nd round selection 33.3%
chances of a 3rd round selection 33.3%
chances of a 4th round selection 33.3%
chances my percentages are way off 77. 756810%
Bruce Gradkowski/Mike Vick - well dog GONE it, it seems that there is a backup needed. And unless Landry tickles your fancy, I could see a prospect being drafted. Thing is just not early. No not Big Ben's future replacement as some might dream up, but maybe a backup that won't be prone to INTs in crucial moments of a game.
chances of a 4th round selection 10%
chances of a 5th round selection 0% - chances I get this one right 100%
chances of a 6th round selection 65%
chances of a 7th round selection 25%
Will Johnson/Jordan Todman - One might think Nix canceled out a Johnson. But behind Bell and Williams, you have well..................... very little to talk about. And probably come the draft there will be very little to talk about, unless the Steelers pull a Archer and overdraft a speedy midget. Haley look into my eyes, stayyyyyyyyyyyyyy awayyyyy,..... you are getting sleeeeeeeeeeeepy. Yeah but this board would wide awake if he pulled the trigger.I could see a RB drafted for depth.
chances of a 4th round selection 10%
chances of a 6th round selection 30%
chances of a 7th round selection 60%
So for the ones that may think after reading this that OP is in the land of the lost, you can bet your Sleestak, I am.
But it is up to the Steelers to paddle us to safety.
