TMC'S 2016 Steelers Mock Draft

Also curious to see if the FO takes a flyer on Jaylon Smith somewhere in the mid to late rounds, if he's there. Could be a Timmons replacement if his knee ever heals.

I think we are great with the TE position. The only way I draft one is if Henry falls to round 2. It happened in my mock, and if he's there at our pick for round 2, I take him and the upgrade he creates across the board. It gives us a 1a and 1b with Green and Henry. We can immediately institute 2 TE sets where both TEs can catch and are legitimate red zone threats. Having a stud RB in Bell or Williams with a 2 TE set gives us a better 2 TE set than the Patriots, since our RB is a dual threat and a home run hitter. Plus our WR would be AB with a chance to plug in Coats or Wheaton as the #2. That's a pretty sick setup IMHO.

Outside of that scenario, I don't see us going TE because it wouldn't really improve the depth we already have. 1. Green 2. Henry 3. James 4. Grimble (I'm not sold on Spaeth making it through the cuts this year).
 
Cope I see the logic in drafting Henry in the second, but I'm afraid our need for significant reinforcements on D are simply too great at this point. Without Ladarius on board, sure, count me in. But with Green and James now with a year under his belt, I'll take that and look for CB-S-OLB-DL help early.

If we do go TE, I can't see it being before round 4. It would be pure depth and insurance because Spaeth is at the end of his rope and I know the FO isn't comfortable with James as the only backup to Green.
 
I haven't had time to get too involved in the draft this year but I'd be surprised if we didn't take a WR and a dev QB this year. We'll see in a few days.

yeah I see the draft unfolding like

1 Best available at S/CB/OLBer/ (DE,DT,NT all rolled in 1)
2 Subtract whatever was picked in 1
3 Subtract whatever was picked in 1 and 2 add WR to the mix
4 BPA - minus whatever was picked in 1 add RB,G, and T into the mix
6 Add QB into the mix
7 Add returner into the mix

Why do you think they moved up for Shamarko? Ricardo Colclough was one of mine too.
 
TMC I hope your right about Andrew Billings. That is the guy I've wanted all season. We need a wrecking ball in the middle and if he calls to us IMO it's a no brainier to take this kid with our first overall. I'll be on pins and needles and if we do take him I'll be so frikkin happy. We desperately need another BIG SNACK
