Dated? Foster just got a new contract!
So did TMC ever give a review of our actual draft picks? I'd be really interested to hear his take.
Round 1: Burns. A++ Great pick. Steelers incredibly fortunate Burns dropped to them, should have gone much earlier. Thank God others reached on Hargraeves, Apple and William Jackson III, the Steelers got the far superior cornerback. The Bengals really screwed this up, grabbing a much lesser player in WJIII when Burns was there for the taking. Great job by Colbert to reject whatever offers he got to move down. Burns is ready to start from day one, which is rare for a rookie corner, especially a junior like Burns. This was simply brilliant and quite frankly an incredibly lucky pick for them.
Round 2: Davis A++ Are you ******** me, Sean Davis still on the board at the bottom of the 2nd?? Holy Smokes! Davis was by far the best safety in the draft, to get him where they did, the Steelers have to feel blessed. Davis is as ready as they come, sharp as a razor, incredible awareness and football smarts, a plug and play starter - a Pro Bowl level player - for the next ten years. I still can't believe this pick.
Round 3: Hargrave A++ The Steelers run of luck continues, having the clearly best DT in the draft fall to their laps in the 3rd round. What is going on? Did the Rooneys sign a deal with the devil? After seeing far inferior linemen picked before him, it was a miracle the quick-footed monster Hargrave was there. Hargrave is an All Pro level talent. Wow, just wow.
Round 4: Hawkings A++ Get outta here, Hawkings in the 4th round? He was a lock to go in the 1st, a player with impeccable traits, a young athletic left tackle in the 4th round???? I had him ranked as a top 15 player, the value here is beyond belief. I will go on record to say Hawkins may be the best left tackle in the NFL within the next three years.
Round 5: no pick, no problem.
Round 6: Feeney A++ Clearly the Steelers are ready to move on from Jarvis. Deebo wil be back in a sweatpants role, cheering on our new starting ROLB from the sidelines. Feeney is ultra athletic. A menacing, punishing, brute force edge rusher who will give LT's - and QB's - fits for years. Feeney was drafted as a plug & play starter, who will immediately provide the Steelers with a major upgrade at the position. I predict 10+ sacks his rookie year, and basically every year thereafter. Amazing luck to get this guy in the 6th round.
Round 7a: Ayers A++ Ayers will be a Pro Bowl punt and kick returner and may well end up our #2 WR behind AB. With the ball in his hands he reminds me of a combination of Gale Sayers and Barry Sanders. As a returner he has Devin Hester qualities, but may surpass him as far as vision and speed. He may be up there with the Steelers all time great receivers, I see unlimited potential. The sky's the limit with this kid.
Round 7b Matakevich A++ This kid comes in and may push either Timmons or Shazier right to the bench. I don't see how Tomlin can keep him off the field. Instinctive, athletic, brash, big talker, 'follow me' type player, Matakevich will be a tone setter on this new, revamped D. Fantastic value at the bottom of the 7th round.
Summary: Colbert & Tomlin hit this one out of the park. Drafted incredible talent at each and every pick. I'm still hyperventilating. Planning on getting back the the SN board soon, can't wait to rejoin the discussion with the fellas. Looking forward to what that draft guru POP has to say, world consensus is he's the best football mind over there currently.
UDFAs so rarely work out that I don't bother even looking into who they sign, since 98% of the time, none make the team and contribute to the team in any real way.
So, kind of waste of time to even bother looking into them. I wait until they make some noise in preseason before I bother to notice.

i doubt seriously TMC can step in day one and be the PR, even less doubt he can be a slot receiver.
he's old, slow and white.
you take that back. of all the things over the years, you sink to that level? that was low as ****, even for you.
Supe going JohnnyLaw. How's that for professional courtesyi doubt seriously TMC can step in day one and be the PR, even less doubt he can be a slot receiver.

getting a stopgap and a team captain for special teams out of a UDFA is almost the best that you can expect. Golden is a great UDFA
