TJ Watt on the defensive short comings this season

When your leader doesn't prepare every game like it is a important matchup, you will always have highs and lows.

For me no shocker when a player regurgitates the same **** we have been for some time.
 
To get an outside line please dial 8, then 8 again.
 
Great! I’ve said it in the past in multiple threads that this team will never get to another SB with Tomlin as head coach.

He is responsible for the change in culture of this football team allowing and enabling the actions of some of the players. He facilitates and runs the practices that T.J. says are lackadaisically run, and he is the one that’s suppose to keep his 53 focused.

I have zero confidence in 2019 with this guy running the show. Zero!

Jesus, how do you twist that statement into him talking about Tomlin....He is saying we are lackadaisical. Seems to me he was talking about the effort by the players

I am a manager and ALL MY EMPLOYEES are not all created equal. Some are lazy as **** and do the minimum. It is that way everywhere in jobs ALL OVER AMERICA & football/basedall/basketball teams.

Yes, Tomlin is the leader, but sometimes management makes you play with turds.

I know...I have had my share that MY BOSSES wanted to keep even though they were a cancer.

Now, from the TOP DOWN things have to change yes. But this twit is ABOUT THE EFFORT from the players in practice...

Tomlin is everybody's friend. Friends dont make you work your *** off and delve out discipline. Its like the parent who wants to be their children's friend. It usually doesnt end well.

Who is suppose to be leading this football team? Is it not his responsibility to make sure the practices are not running in this fashion?
Geez, I can tell you as I’m sure anyone else here that’s played from HS to college football, if practice went like the way T.J. describes, you got your *** kicked by the coach. You didn’t dare do that and that’s part of the issues with this team. Guys seem to do what they want because there is no discipline.

Until we have a real D coordinator, our D will not improve. Tomlin has to hire a D coordinator (heck, it could even be Butler) and let him be the D coordinator. Keep your nose out of things other than 100,000 foot level stuff that a normal coach would do. No play calling. No coaching the D. Etc.

That's the issue, and it's not a secret anymore, Tomlin is running the defense, and he needs to step the **** away from it because it's not working.

Art II must step in and tell Tomlin he must relinquish control of the defense and allow his coordinator to do his job. It’s that simple! It’s the only gauge to know if Butler is up to the task or he’s not. Otherwise all you’re doing is masking the problem and never really knowing what you have in Butler. We already know Tomlin’s pedigree.

If players are being lackadaisical in practice, that is, definitely, on the HC to correct. Well, it is, actually on the position coaches to correct and if they don't correct it, the respective coordinator and if they don't correct it, the HC.

I didn't play football for long, but one thing they drilled into us, if you half *** it at practice, you will half *** it in the game.

IIRC. when Tomlin took over the players were complaining he was working them too hard.

Ooooh, how about this: When the D is really stinking it up is when Tomlin DOES allow Butler all the leeway and, when they tighten up is after he takes control?!!!

So as a manager what do you do about the workers who are lazy as ****?
 
I liked the tweet reply that "Tomlin is one perfect throw and catch in the SB away from back to being a coordinator".
