My basic belief is that if you are cut before final cutdowns you are really struggling, but there are exceptions to that rule and sometimes even a guy not asked to camp still has ability.

First cuts are also where teams try to dump younger raw players they hope will slide past everyone else, because teams are still loaded with potentials they havent cut yet or where long time vets get the respect to try to make another club when they obviously are beat out for a spot. here is hoping velasco is the latter
