Time to Vent - Can't Stand to Watch Anymore of the Tomlin Era

If that's true, Butler should be fired. Our D should've stopped showing blitz so early, basically giving it away while we have a LB cover their best receiver who was open over the middle for almost the entire 4th quarter. Our run defense was terrible too. How many runs went for 7 yards plus right up the middle?

Man I miss Shazier, not sure even he could help this clusterfuck of a defense though. Any defense that has your ;linebackers covering wideouts on a consistent basis is doomed to failure.

Not Butler, Tomlin is the one that didn't change, which is why it's on him.

They have to wait for Tomlin to hang it up on his own, it would be a PR nightmare to fire the Rooney Afirmitive Action Rule hire. The league these days is all about perception, it doesn’t take a genius to see that.

On another note, how is it we have now had 2 DC’s that consistently play the same **** D scheme? I honestly believe Tomlin is using his power, rightly so, to do what HE WANTS DONE. The problem is Tomlin had almost no experience when they hired him, and it has hurt them for years. Even top Draft picks have not gotten a pass this long.

I think It's on both of them, but I agree Tomlin's background is defense, the fact he let this dumpster fire take place with no adjustments puts him at fault even more.
 
I can't even watch this team anymore. I hate watching the little talent we have left wasted on the mediocre coaches we have. I was late watching the game visiting my son, turned it on, watched the punt return for a TD, and turned it off. My worst fear now is that this team somehow makes the playoffs and makes everyone think something is fixed.
 
Tomlin era or fantasy football/fix is in era.

There is a lot of problems in today's nfl. I do think Tomlin can manage the game clock a lot better.
But the league in general has a certain....favoritism it seems.

Ya know after a game like this I’d speak up even it’s going to cost me money. Just write a detailed letter sighting the plays blown that cost the Steelers touchdowns. Let the entire team read it first, then send it to Roger.

With these officials we might see a ruined Super Bowl some day

The NFL knows which crews suck. They need to stop putting those guys on prime time games between playoff contenders. There are plenty of games where they can hide the suck.

I heard this is the crew with the replacement guy due to the firing of a ref. If so, that's inexcusable. Their best guys need to be on the bigger games.

The fact that they aren't makes me question the motive.

Hell, in the first half they had to blow a play dead for no other reason than the refs were not in position on a punt.

In the last 3 years, Tomlin is 2-11 in challenges. That's 11 wasted timeouts, only 2 were worth it. I now cringe when I hear he's challenging, and his game management/clock management are equally atrocious. I'm over it.
 
I've been saying this and getting **** for it for years now. He isnt good. Period. I also cant be enthused about the team under this moron. How many more years of this garbage will we have to endure? Damn.
 
Yeah I’m just about turning in my Steeler card after 55 plus years of loyal service.
When the hiring of the HC for my beloved team comes down to a affirmative action rule rather than finding the right man for the job, and watching years of incompetence, and an owner afraid to remove the guy, I’m just about done.
The guy is not a good HC. The team is always surrounded by drama and it’s a rudderless ship with no captain.

We might make the playoffs, and be one and done again. Assuming that happens, Tomlin will be 3-7 in his last TEN Playoff games.

The last two playoff wins he had were vs the Matt Moore lead Miami Dolphins, and the Bengal's who self-destructed late.

Tomlin is too comfortable in his position. Too cocky and arrogant to suit me. Rooney needs to start holding him accountable. Hell, he should have been fired after the Jacksonville playoff loss like some of the minority owners wanted to do, but not good ole Artie. We don't over-react. No you just keep accepting seasons ending in disappointment and wasting talent like Ben and AB.
