Time to put this BEN **** to rest!

So your saying Ben is as good at reading a defense as say Payton Manning? Drew Brees? If he was then he would never need to hold on to the ball the way he does. I am not suggesting we get rid of him I am just stating facts.

His accuracy rating was so off the charts because for the first few years he played they only threw the ball 22 23 times a game. His running game was always the best in the league, and the offense was simplified so he didn't have to use his head much.

He got buy on the things that made him who he is. He used to scramble waaay more than he ever does now. He had youth and athleticism.

He got this reputation of extending the play because he never seemed comfortable knowing exactly where to throw. Timing routes have never been his strong suit. Neither has been film study. There have been many questions & rumors about his work ethic.

He is a top ten QB and has polished his game a lot but he cant carry this team.

These games we are losing to crap teams are usually games where he doesn't have his best stuff. Or starts off slow, etc. It was clear to me from the first pass Sunday he was off.

There was a time when no matter what you knew he was going to win some how. Do you feel that way now?

Now if he has a really solid defense that can keep games close, and doesn't have to win by him scoring 35 points a game. Damn right he can still get the job done and win a super bowl, but this team is a looong way away from that.

Expect to see more of what happened on Sunday over the next few weeks. Hope I am wrong but its hard to believe in this team.

Pretty astute for an FNG, ,,,LOL

Well after all, he is older, more mature and married so he doesn't have to chase his wimmings around the mensroom anymore.

An elite QB would not have the mediocre inability to score points as Ben has had his entire career.

well in just this last games, Bryant dropped a TD and Miller tripped and fell on what would've been another TD, but yeah it's all Ben.

HIS entire career, every QB can go back and talk about drops etc, the only consistent os the elite QBs put up a ton of points and Ben averages 22 points a game for his career, sad.

Elite qb's like?

Manning, Brady, Brees and Rodgers, you know the QBs that score points at will and have destroyed the Steelers defenses over the years.

OK you can have those QB's, you know the ones that put up points, and I'll take Ben, the wins, and the two rings, while Brees, Manning, Rodgers have one each.
I'm pretty sure almost every team ever would like one of those guys, they don't exactly come along every day.

Yeah because those QBs have had such great defenses over the years like Ben. Imagine if we had those QBs instead of Ben, more rings for sure.

ok so we can blame the GREAT qb's lack of rings on defenses, but we can't blame our lack of scoring on anything but Ben?

Brady never won a super bowl without a top defense either.

or the video cameras.....

Ben has been here for 11 years, he is the only constant on all the mediocre scoring offenses but your blind love of him excuses his inability to read defenses and make quick, anticipatory throws in the red zone, his achilles heels his entire career.

And there are only about three or four quarterbacks better than him. Look at some of the other guys in the league, who do you take over Ben besides Rodgers, Manning, Brady, Brees or Luck?

save the blind love ****, you make yourself sound like an idiot. I actually understand that guys like you keep bringing up will go down as all time greats and they aren't easy find, I never said he was as good as manning or rodgers, but he's good enough to help win 2 super bowls.

I am sorry if I am wrong but you must be to young to remember what life after bradshaw and before Ben was like. Ben is one of the best qbs in the last 20 years in the entire league. yes he is a bonehead sometimes but I would take him over almost any qb in the league.

Considering the crappy offensive line play BR has had to endure, it's a wonder he's played as well as he had for as long as he has.

Too bad the Steelers haven't put the premium on the OL that teams like the Patriots, Broncos, Packers and even the Colts have.

A great QB like manning and Brady make their Olines better by getting rid of the ball consistently quickly , something Ben has never done

Fixed it for ya. Without Ben, this team wouldn't stand a chance but he is just not a conventional QB and never will be. His last Super Bowl win was a disastrous display of QB skills, the defense won that outing for us. That being said, he still has been a positive factor and will continue to be for some time to come.

yeah, Manning made his oline look great vs us in the playoffs in 05, how has Brady made his line look the last super bowls he's been in and the past few playoff games?
Ben lead what maybe the worst Oline the steelers ever had to a super bowl win.

Wow. You've mentioned this in at least three different threads now.

Drops happen, bro. Happens to every quarterback, every week.

And I'm not all that certain that the pass you insist on bringing up every chance you get would have been caught even if Miller hadn't fallen. It still might have been overthrown.

Without 2 lucky catches by the Giants Tyrees and Manninghams , Brady has 5 rings. Funny you fail to mention how Brady keeps winning , making the playoffs every year while Ben is in the process of missing the playoffs for the 3rd straight year and 5th time in his career.

Your blind love of Ben makes you look stupid, care to bring up drops again. In the last 3 games against bad teams Ben has thrown 1 TD and 5 INTs not counting his 3 TDs in garbage time, yipee for you.

Where did I say that? I asked how a QB that can't read a defense or "master his craft", has managed an 11 year career and put up the stats he has. Ben's never going to carry the team on his own, but he's better than all but a few other QBs in the league. .
