Time management & WRs

Bryant's "drop" in the endzone was ultimately the difference in the game. I hesitate to call it a drop because he whiffed on it so badly, despite turning around in plenty of time to react to it.

Ben and the offense looked down right awful.

We can piss and moan about a timeout all we want, but the offense lost the game for us today.

Just stop it.

We lost the game because the Bengals scored more points.

Stop equating legitimate criticism with pissing and moaning.

Quit making excuses for the inexcusable.

so frustrating. Sure we had many chances to put this game away. And yes, the D played amazing and deserved the win. Someone tell me how not calling timeouts is the right call. It was obvious cincy was going to run the ball take the FG.

That's gives you the ball at your 20 wit no timeouts with 2:10-2:15 left. Dumb! Period.

Not a very good game for Bryant.

He had a few catchable- no catches that could have decided a better outcome.

I hate to be a poor loser besides being pissed when we go calls against us and not for us. I don't want to hear Brown's mouth again, he was no where today. He thinks he is some super star than make a play, get in the open if your so good. He wants to cry the blues he doesn't get the ball how about running some routs and get open.

He did... Ben threw the ******* ball 10 feet over his head and it was picked off.

Yes, they did. But they STILL got the ball down to the 15 yard line and having an extra two or three plays there would certainly have been helpful, no?

It's hard for him to tell from his vantage point and having Tomlins balls on his chin.

Looked like the old Steelers we've come to know and love... Defense plays lights out, giving the offense opportunity after opportunity and they CANT ******* SCORE!!! Same old **** we've been seeing for years. Ben is a good QB but you can't deny that his offenses have always struggled to score points. Everyone here ******* that he isn't put in the same category with the Brady's, the Rodgers,& the Brees's of the world, but this is why. For some reason he has always struggled to score touchdowns with the consistency the "elite" quarterbacks do. Damned if I know why, but he just doesn't.

Easy, Ben on return from injuries, 1st game back is well documented, as similar outcomes.

Good thing is the next game Ben won't be as rusty...

I think we easily have the worst Coach/QB clock mismanagement combo in NFL history.

Im not a huge tomlin hater or supporter, and I love Ben as a QB, but in the clock management area of the game they are awful.

The clock management was bad but the offense had all 4th quarter to score and did nothing.
That fake spike 2 yard out route to Martavis was just mind blowing, what the hell did that accomplish. Ben is terrible in clock management positions as well as Tomlin.
What a painful game to watch.

We also can't expect our defense to play this good every game either. Oakland will be a very tough offense to stop. Not to mention, they always play us tough and win most of the time in recent years.

no nothing will be easy, but winnable

it is up to the team and coaches to improve moving forward

I think Tuitts return will help the D..

ad some Ben reps --the O.

agreed. But thats why I thought if Ben could go last week he should of. You know he is always rusty coming back from injury, then he should of started against KC. I know he said he tweaked his knee late in the week of KC week, but doesn't he always play that card when it comes to his health? If Tomlin says it ain't looking good, Ben tells everyone he feels great, but if coach says he looks good, Ben plays the sympathy card. If I hear later in the week that he "tweaked" his knee early in the game, causing him to be less effective in the game then I will lose respect for our QB. To me that is what keeps him from being considered in the Brady class. Either way, Im a fan...and I will continue to bleed black and gold next week vs Oakland.

I remember when we had a WR named Markus Wheaton..

I don't know if he's just not getting open or he's not being targeted or what it is but man, he is nowhere to be found on most Sundays.
He should be put back on kick return duty.

Yes, for the thousandth time, Tomlin is brain dead about clock management. Completely and totally, ridiculously brain dead. And I've said it before and I'll say it again, between him, Haley, Munchak and Ben, you'd think somebody would be smart enough to figure out how to manage a god damn clock. 1 current head coach, 2 former head coaches, and a long time vet at QB and they are all clock idiots.

Only one is the man in charge.

not calling the time out DID NOT cost us 38 seconds, it costs us about 5 seconds, it was 2nd down after that, then two minute warning. If we take a TO they run a play, then two minute warning, they run a play and maybe about 5 seconds runs off and they kick FG took about 3 seconds, kickoff with 1:52 on the clock, as it was they kicked off with 1.47 seconds on the clock. You Tomlin haters are so blind you make very little sense!!!

The Steelers could have stopped the clock three times well before the two minute warning, probably before even the 2:20 mark.

The 1st down play ended with 2:38(TO). 2nd down play....another say 6 secs(TO). That leaves us with around 2:32. 3rd down play...another 6 sec(TO). That leaves it 4th down with roughly 2:26. 3 seconds for the FG...Now we are down to 2:23. Kick off we don't return...zero seconds run off the clock. I see around 2:23 seconds left. Plus the 2 min warning. Could of played out a little differently. You never just let 38 seconds run off the clock in that situation...NEVER!!

You're a huge hater.

Who hates so much that he is blind.

I have no idea what point you are trying to make in this incoherent post lol

What excuse did I attempt to make?

Looks like several people got it based on the feedback received.

I sure as hell am not going to waste my time try to explain it to the obtuse.
