Tim Benz "rooting" for Aaron Rodgers to replace Big Ben when he retires.

Enough for you to say no thanks?

I'm not saying that, I'm just making the point that being really stressed out and having a bad day seems a little different than saying "this hillbilly retard fest" is all.

**** Rodgers. Can't stand that douchebag.
I don’t think he would be an improvement. Doesn’t have any less miles on him than Ben does. Props for dating Danica Patrick though. Apparently she couldn’t stand him either.

Sign him to a team friendly deal and then trade him to the Browns for two first rounders.

I don't get the **** no responses. What have I been missing here? I get it, he's 37
Like somehow Rodgers wouldn't be an upgrade over what is on the roster?
It's not like the steelers would be throwing a ton of money at him. He wouldn't ever accept the pittance that he'd be offered

**** no, I don't want one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game to come take over for BB
WTF?

But to me, there's being a stressed out ******* who lashes out in anger & emotion maybe saying "get the **** out of my face!" or "get me away from these idiots!" or something similar - and saying "this hillbilly retard fest". That's more of a precalculated, really nasty thing to say. I don't think even Ben at his worst would say something like that, let alone think it. I mean hillbilly retard? But hey, just one's opinion.
Ben wouldn’t say something like that. I’ve been to his hometown, my former employer often had our regional meetings there.

One of the greatest QBs to ever play the game? Alrighty then.

Please tell me about the time you met him??
Lol believe me, if/when I do, I wont be huffing and puffing my "inside scoop" about him via eavesdropping on a phone call he makes to his agent, and then running my mouth about how he "hates his fans" based off of 10 seconds worth of comments

Um, yep, pretty much.

Um, no. A guy with a 12-9 record in the postseason is not even close to the GOAT. Hell, Ben even has a better playoff record with Tomlin at the helm for the majority of his career.

Oh give me a ******* break. The dude has a TD-INT ratio that is otherworldly, can amd does make any throw asked of him, he's easily one of the most feared qb's of the last 2 decades.

"B-b-but he said 'retard' that one time, I hearded it wif mah own eayurrrs!!"

He's also the only QB in NFL history to lose 4 straight NFC Championship games. They must've all really feared him.

Look, I know he's a future HOFer and an incredible talent, but when it's mattered most, he's come up short. Bottom line. His only title is against Cool Shades.

I mean, fair enough. But even with that, to me, he is still absolutely one of the best to ever do it

I expect the roster to be pretty good next year. I cannot stand Aaron Rodgers, but I'm taking him 10/10 times over Rudolph or Haskins.
So you’re saying you’d rather have a Hall of Fame QB vs. 2 QBs who’ve been benched in favor of QBs not even in league anymore?

Sad part is that is better insight than ESPN provides anymore

His record when trailing is not impressive.

Consider that we nearly set a Super Bowl record coming back from 21-3. It took a fumble when momentum shifted to get it back & still had a chance with 2 min drive after being held a FG.

The real anomaly was Ben not driving us down for a chance. Historically he’s one of the best ever. Literally—he’s 3rd All-Time in 4th quarter comeback/game winning drives. He passed Marino, Elway and Unitas last year (not bad company) and even tied for 2nd in league with 4 such drives.

How would history judge Ben if he directed a TD drive then? Same to Rodgers? Ben would be in a rare category of 3 rings while Rodgers would be a choker

Four NFC Championship losses since 2014. Man, it must be nice to actually make it out of the first round of the playoffs...

i never liked Rodgers. I think he's overrated. It's funny how Ben never got any credit early in his career for making schoolyard plays, but Rodgers did the same ****, holding the balll too long and somehow he was the greatest QB who ever played. Where are all the big game wins for Rodgers? He won a Super Bowl. So did Joe Flacco.

Having said that, if Ben retires, i would take Rodgers next year. If they hit on Green at C and at least 1 of Banner or Chukes proves to be a solid OT, then the OL will be good. Couple that with the defense and the young playmakers and the Steelers should be contenders next year.

I'm not sure Ben will retire though. Why should he if the team is good? Canada's system is QB friendly and if the OL is good enough that he won't take a beating then why wouldn't he stick around?

Dammit man, stop it with your factual posts!

This debate was like a heavy weight fight, good back n forths. When addressing those short comings I think peeps should ask themselves was he just not clutch or did he elevate lesser play maximizing the situation getting the most out of what was available. In that SB win I remember a QB that was threading a needle deadly in his approach. Fans say Ben didn't have the coaching to maximize his talents. I think you would find Green Bay fans that echo the same belief. It could be one or the other or somewhere in between. Regardless the guy has had some wow-ing moments as has Ben. Ben perhaps even more. We could argue that AR is the healthier option present day. And that he would be the best option next year if available.

He really was. In fact, if not for a couple drops IIRC, he could've had over 400 yards. He was in a zone that game. I'm playing Devil's Advocate here as well, and I can't really stand the guy, but he's definitely had some incredible "wow" moments, like Ben. That game where Ben hit Wallace for the go-ahead score and win was just a Superman-like back and forth between them. He just never got over the playoff hump after that Super Bowl win. And when I look at his numbers in the playoffs, he still had great stats, but something was just missing.

I can't really say because I never really paid that much attention to him after - and of course football is a team effort so you probably can't put all the blame on him. I just really can't stand the guy. But I want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers win another Super Bowl more than anything, so whatever is best to get them there, I'm in.

And here's another idiot. Or just another talking head searching desperately for clicks.

"Andrew Fillipponi is hoping Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t do well this year, so the Steelers can go after Aaron Rodgers in 2022.

“If he deep sixes himself this year and proves to the Steelers and everyone else that it’s over, then they’ll really go after Aaron Rodgers,” said Poni."

What the **** sort of attitude is that? I'm hoping Ben does so well the Steelers offer him $40m+ to come back in 2022, because it means the Steelers have had a successful 2021. Filipponi hopes the Steelers have a **** 2021 just so they don't bring back Ben?

He is a controversial hack. I am not even sure he believes half of the things he says. More of the reactionary type, or trying to get whomever to be. React to his drivel. Once you identify those types you learn to expect it every time he posts something.

Now that I actually looked up his career stats. ..
I'm absolutely OUT!

Not nearly enough interceptions, and far too many touchdowns.

Definitely not one of the best ever

If Rodgers was 27 I would sign him. 37?? You tie up too much money. He won't come cheap.
