Tim Benz "rooting" for Aaron Rodgers to replace Big Ben when he retires.

I listened to his conference. I know the man has some cocky issues family etc. But the conference itself I mean you drafted his replacement. You aren't talking future. You aren't stacking for a SB run. He was soft spoken as in clearing the air. If I had no future somewhere I might want to start new. We get frustrated as fans with our HC coming up short so why shouldn't AR get frustrated with things if he desires something but feels it is out of reach? He made it clear he didn't want a final say he just wanted a voice. I guess we can all look at things and have different takes. But in this case I saw a soft spoken sincere man hungry for a SB. I would take that on if Ben wasn't around. No question.

Collinsworth may want to give these guys a call about being their new spokesperson.

I live in Wisconsin and everyone hates him down deep but they recognize he’s a talent so they deal with his drama. He’s the anti Roethlisberger. Media and other teams lament him because of accusations in the beginning of his career. But since he’s been a model player, teammate, husband and father. One of the truly good players in the league. Rodgers hates Green Bay, hates his fans, is a single guy banging and dumping multiple women but the media glorifies him and celebrates him even though half the team can’t stand him. He divides the locker room with his guys and not his guys. They were him being flexible with his salary away from a couple more Super Bowls but he is me first.

I feel unlike Favre once Rodgers leaves the fans won’t welcome him back

wait, where are you getting all this? rodgers hates green bay? based off of what? hates his fans?? half the team can't stand him?? i think you're just talking out of your *** because you don't like the guy. hey, i get it, he's not a very likeable individual, i agree with that. but don't just blow smoke and embellish to pile on when you can't back it up.

I'd like to get more context as well, but Fairlane has always been a reasonable & knowledgeable poster and I don't remember him ever consistently badmouthing Rodgers before. And he lives in Wisconsin so maybe he hears things from the local press etc. that we outside of the state don't? I'm a little surprised by the comment of him hating Green Bay and the fans as well, but let's see if we can get a little more substantiated information before making assumptions.

I didn't see Rodgers' press conference, but saw a little snippet where he said he loved the team, the fans (but stopped short of the organization) - and that seemed quite deliberate. Seems there's a lot of drama surrounding him up there. I'd like to hear more.

Hoping we end up with Malik Willis from Liberty really question the size of the unc and usc QB, and drafting a usc QB is just a big turn off they a;; fail only one with some success was carsuck

Well the Benz, you’re a moron. Had this displeasure of meeting the douche a couple of times...in no way do we need that in the building...not to even mention what GB will want for him. Hard pass on that! I’d rather watch Rudolph, Haskins, Grandpa Ben or the draft pick or the free agent...or basically anyone that is not that gigantic doichenozzle

And here's another idiot. Or just another talking head searching desperately for clicks.

"Andrew Fillipponi is hoping Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t do well this year, so the Steelers can go after Aaron Rodgers in 2022.

“If he deep sixes himself this year and proves to the Steelers and everyone else that it’s over, then they’ll really go after Aaron Rodgers,” said Poni."

Incredible, but not all that surprising coming from him. He hopes the future HOFer tanks. I really hope Ben's knees hold up, because he's certainly got the motivation.

Based off I met him his second season at an event where players meet and greet fans and sign autographs. He sat on the phone yelling at his agent for not getting him out of, and I quote, “this hillbilly retard fest” and he wouldn’t be doing it next year. A pretentious *******. He was the ******* backup.

ps

I work for Associated Bank (bank of the packers since 1919) and have had many opportunities to meet him since. I graciously declined every time.

Interesting. Well, couple that with the fact that he attended Berkeley, seemingly loves to hang out with the Hollywood elite, and just other things I've heard - that's not all that hard to believe. So he's a phony, uppity ******* basically? I've also heard he 'disowned' his family because they're too religious for him. His dad played college ball and basically told the kids not to party in college like he did as that would hurt their careers, and that was apparently a bad thing.

What absolute hell this guy had to go through!

ah ok. based off of hearing him talking on the phone to his agent, however many years ago. got it. *rolls eyes*

That just tells me he was an ******* that day. Over the years at Latrobe I have seen many cool peeps and many ********. I might not buy ARs jersey but I damn would accept another ring. Btw Ben was known to be a big ******* early to the point some peeps in Pittsburgh still talk about it. Look how long peeps cheered on AB he was an even bigger *******. That talent level is undeniable. I wouldn't blink if AR came aboard. A pipedream but not a dream I would oppose.

Right on cue...

what a bunch of bullshit. As if the modern athlete is being silenced.

Rodgers just whined about not being consulted in decisions. He was pissed they let Jordie Nelson go. If there was a real media, somebody would have pointed out the Nelson was washed up and retired the next year after 1 **** season in Oakland. In other words, the packers were right to let him go and you just ******* proved why players should not make personnel decisions. Because they go by their feelings and not by what is best for the future.

VERY intriguing prospect though.

Saw Ben once at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. Nice guy. Didn't act like he was expecting VIP treatment. He didn't sign autographs or take pictures. But, he did explain to folks that he couldn't because he was there to enjoy the park like everyone else and if he caused a commotion like having lines backed up while he took pictures and signed autographs, it wouldn't be fair to others waiting to ride the rides, etc.

Meh.. I thought him being a bad teammate and major ******* was common knowledge for years.

That just tells me he was an ******* that day.

But to me, there's being a stressed out ******* who lashes out in anger & emotion maybe saying "get the **** out of my face!" or "get me away from these idiots!" or something similar - and saying "this hillbilly retard fest". That's more of a precalculated, really nasty thing to say. I don't think even Ben at his worst would say something like that, let alone think it. I mean hillbilly retard? But hey, just one's opinion.

Enough for you to say no thanks? Having Rudolph under center might prompt a whole new vocabulary of nicknames er unpleasantries.
