One of the most talented RBs ever and ever so humble.that is one sharp dressed RB
i let the Penn St stuff go after the first SB winThe thing I always respected about Franco, even if he did go to Penn State, was his humility, and that he lived below his means. Just a regular guy, no Testa Rossa for Franco.
He never makes that play without the excellent Penn St. coaching.i let the Penn St stuff go after the first SB win
True true. The other thing is the way he represents the black&gold just nonstop. I mean you damn well know what team Franco played for all these years later. He really is a Steelers Icon. The thing I always respected about Franco, even if he did go to Penn State, was his humility, and that he lived below his means. Hard to believe he played in SeattleTrue true. The other thing is the way he represents the black&gold just nonstop. I mean you damn well know what team Franco played for all these years later. He really is a Steelers Icon.
Bite your tongueHard to believe he played in Seattle
Sports are a good reminder that nothing last forever and to enjoy the good while it last.Bite your tongueI remember watching the first Seahawk game with Franco. Strange and sad. End of an era.
Not keeping Franco one more year and not drafting Marino, was DMR’s greatest regret during his stewardship of the Steelers according to his book. Business was then as it is now, Business.Hard to believe he played in Seattle

Jim Brown is NOT a Franco fan.I think had he somehow stayed in PITTSBURGH, he would have passed the cleveland RB's yardage. Franco ended with 12,120rushing yards and still pretty impresive at that.
I don't have Jim Brown's total handy but I do remember Brown saying he would come out of retirement if Franco passed his total so they must be pretty close.
I rooted for Franco to break that Milestone but it just didn't happen.
Salute the nation
I am certain, his Italian mother had a lot to do with that…The thing I always respected about Franco, even if he did go to Penn State, was his humility, and that he lived below his means. Just a regular guy, no Testa Rossa for Franco.
Jim Brown is NOT a Franco fan.
Brown 12,312
Harris 12,120
Brown always used the yards/carry stat as the TRUE sign of a good ruuningback and constantly throws his 5.3 up against Franco's 4.1.
In their heyday, I could see that since EVERYTHING was geared to the run.
But whatever.
Jim Brown can go beat his wife and mistress some more.

All of these are spot on…..Absolutely right fedderone, Jim Brown isn't a very good person.
I couldn't stand his arrogance while on the field but after his career was over, he made a lot of wrong kind of headlines.
As he aged, he progressively became more vocal over sh_t that would make you think....... WTF what a dumbass.
Exact opposite of Franco and that's not B & G glasses either, but even if so FRANCO was a way more class act.
Salute the nation
