Thoughts on tenn

The Steelers should be able to mercilessly embarrass the Tacks on national TV. But they won't, they'll limp dick their way to a half assed boring game.
Mike McCarthy and Chip Kelly know the value of punishing opponents who are not at an equally competitive level. At this point in the season the opposition needs to realize that your team is tight, right and should be taken seriously.
Right now the Titans likely think the Steelers are not consistent enough to cause concern.
Well see who shows up, killers or fakers.

Is it our trap game, or the Titans trap game?

There is talk about trap game number two, which given the history could be valid. There is much being made about Tenn and it's winning record on Monday night at home. The Steelers are facing a road game and a bye following, which is a great distraction and could have guys looking forward to the trip home instead of the game. There is also the edge that Munch has who coached this team and was then replaced by another, Munch wants payback angle is in play. Not mentioned is the coach of the Tenn team the wiz who might want some payback as well and likely knows the steelers better than anyone they will face other than the coach of the cards.

Lots of angles and drama in this game even before it is played. In addition to the on the field issues such as penalties and turnovers there is a big chance for lots of mental games to be played as well. These may not just be played by coaches either. Lots of players given their ties to the other teams coaching staff might be second guessing themselves as well. The Steelers are likely going up against a desperate team on the road when many things indicate the titans might be playing one of their best games of the season.

Toss in the absence of leadership on the field due to some key injuries and playing with the bottom of some areas of the roster the Steelers are going up against a real challenge this week. This has major trap written all over it for as Coach MT says a myriad of reasons.

Maybe we will be the Titans trap game and actually win.

Some excellent barbecue, some of the best ribs I've ever eaten were in Tenn. As much respect I had for Elvis, Graceland was boring....oh wait, dammit, you were talking about the Titans...lol, I gotta stop taking things literally

BigApple's 2014 record while in attendance?

0-2 (@Baltimore & @Jets)

LL

Got tickets for the last game of the season also...

May just need to sit my *** at home:confused:

The steelers have lost about the last 5 games I've attended in person, and are probably 2-8 in the last 10. Probably has something to do with why I don't think it's worth the $ anymore.

First time I went to Graceland (yes, been there more than once, my company is headquartered in Memphis) I get near the end where he's buried, there is a couple who were in front of me all the way through, and the wife drops to her knees and starts sobbing uncontrollably at the site of Elvis' tombstone. Husband hauls her off, it looks like a James Brown encore. I was standing near a security guard and I whisper "This kind of thing happen often?" She looks left and looks right to make sure no one can hear her, and whispers "Yup, every day. He was a great singer but he's dead, get over it."
It was a great moment.

Common sense says the Steelers should run the ball, but Haley and Air Ben are planning to play into the Titans strength and pass it all damn game. I predict 15 carries total and 39 passing attempts.

another game that just screams for Tomlin to pull his same old play safe and conservative **** until we are behind by 14 points in the 4th quarter. What makes anyone think Tomlin will come out and exploit a teams weakness?

I bought my first townhouse from a couple and the old crotchety wife (probably 60+) had one of the bedrooms turned into an "Elvis Room". It was very, very creepy.

There was a small bed with an Elvis bedspread. A HUGE poster of Elvis' face on the back of the door. A million little things hanging on the wall. The one thing I remember was this little wooden hanging doll on the wall and when you bumped something or closed the door, the rattling would make the bottom part of the doll move to appear like Elvis was swinging his hips.

I'm telling you, that was weird. More than any "Steelers Shrine" I've seen in person (and personally I think the people with a million Steelers things are a bit wacky too).

That's been eight years ago, you think this game will prove the STEELERS made a wrong choice, between these two???? Drop kick that fallacy, then the STEELERS drop kick the ****!!!!

Salute the nation

There have been many games since then that have indicated they made the wrong choice.

There is no reason to not pound the ****. They are starting a third string 6th round rookie QB, a rookie RB who's highest output is 61 yards, and they'll probably be without McCluster. To add to that; their starting LT Roos is out, their starting SS Pollard is out, and their starting TE Stevens is out. This shouldn't even be a close game.

fg with 23 seconds left. it's not overtime, therefore it's not close

After we lose to a very very very bad team don't we always bounce back??? Also even thou they don't play on the field I think our asst. coaches will have a big part in this one. Munchak will have a chip on his shoulder and not let the oline get pushed around and what is LeBeau 1000-1 vs rookie qb's???

I understand why we would feel that way but if people got "over it", she would not have a job...

Very true, but how many games has Wiz had to prove the other way? NOT defending cool shades, but my point was this topic has been or should have been buried long ago. Hanging on to that should-a could-a is an act of desperation near as large as Tomlin's desperation for consistancy.

I could see two possible scenarios

Steelers win and rebound off a ****** loss

Steelers playing down once AGAIN and losing

hoping for the win of course

go Steelers !

Cool Shades beat Whiz in the SB. I'm good with it. That doesn't mean they should automatically extend Shades' contract though.

It's like just because Haley is shaky as an OC that doesn't make The Bruce better. Although me and 31 GM's didn't think he be a good HC. I was wrong apparently.

Hmmmm...so you're saying the Steelers could win....OR lose??? Fascinating.

Allow me to thicken the plot....

....there could also be a tie!:p

I know I was captain obvious

but that's just it

There is a obvious disconnect

we can't just mark a W against a team that loses to everyone else under the sun

Steelers have turned into one of the most predictable unpredictable teams

and it starts and ends with the head coach

the fact anyone could easily see a win or a loss against two bottom feeding teams

is a coaching fail

now onto a tie?

nahhhh the Steelers show their hand early

they either suck or focus and play hard

there seems to be no middle ground with them

Lol sorry, i couldnt help myself. (I concur, it starts with the coach, the "leader" of the team)

I think the only reason this is a topic is the number of former coaches from Pittsburgh that are coaching at Tenn, Horton Defensive Coordinator, who is very much like DL, Whiz head coach, Mularky who is a very good coach and either wide outs or Offensive coordinator. It might be important to them more so than it is to me and they really know this team well. On our side we have Munch who knows the titans real well. This maybe a game they are desperate to win and our guys maybe thinking about getting done, the bye week and thanksgiving.

I did some looking ahead at the teams that would be ahead of us in the standings for top seeds in the nfl. KC we could be ahead of if we win against them. NE has to play teams with winning records the rest of the way and might loose a few. Denver is not facing a cake walk either. It just might be possible for the steelers to find the help they need to move up into a good playoff spot.
The one thing we are unsure of is the rest of our season. Had the games been won that likely should have been won we would be the top seed as of right now. To get into top spots 1 or 2 we likely need to plan on wining out. I think this team really needs the bye week during the playoffs if they are going to make it to the championship game.

They loose Monday nights game and the season could be unsalvageable. as not wining our division will put us to far down for a wild card, and going in with out a bye might mean 1 and done.
