This loss was not on the D

The **** it’s not. When you have the lead at the end of the game, you must take a stand. That D was being ***** slapped at will, long before, “they were tired” even came into play. There were 3 fumbles that they were able to cover, only one was because of a play by the D.

Sure the O didn’t get it done either, and many blame Rudolph, yet in 1-1/2 games each, Ben had ZERO TD’s, Rudolph has 4. Yeah, yeah, yeah Ben had more yds, but that means ****, just like counting regular season wins a success.

I remember Shazier's rookie year... did he make some mistakes? Sure, but he made a lot of tackles in the backfield and made decisions in gaps.
My guess is Bush doesn't have the football IQ that Shazier has and it shows on the field.

That could very well be true, or it could be that he is not being utilized the same way. I think they put too much stock in speed, and not in size to play the position.

LMAO, just keep telling yourself he's as good as Ben. You give him every excuse in the book, but don't give Ben the same, like 7 drops at NE, two for TDs, dropped deep ball last week to start the Seattle game.
He got his TE killed too

I agree about the defense. We win today by double digits if Ben is playing. Rudolph is no Ben, never will be.
Ben was an absolute play maker in his younger years before he became a true pocket passer. Rudolph is actually less mobile than I thought he was and his arm strength is going to hurt him. Jimmy G had much more zip on his passes than Rudolph.

If we had a dominant NT to tie up the offensive line Bush would likely be fine. He's experiencing baptism by fire right now. I'm pretty sure he'll be fine eventually.

Like Ben was lighting it up in game 1 or 2? Weak armed, like when he overthrew the receivers the last two games. How about the total of 2 sacks in 1-1/2 games, that far exceeds those taken by a much more mobile Ben.

I get it, you hate that Ben is hurt and not playing the rest of the year. Because on paper, he gives the team much better odds to win. His history also tells that too. As a Future HOF QB, you always want to see him play as long as he can, but eventually the end catches up with everyone.

Most of the throws over the middle are well beyond LB depth. Dupree continues to be brutal. The defense had two leads in the second half and squandered it on the next drive. Terrible team. And again, they are likely getting the highest pick they have had since they got Ben and are shipping it to South Beach God.p

Just like last week, the D played great in the first half. BUT, in the 2nd half, they sucked. Horrific play. The 49ers went up and down the field. There is no excuse other than coaching and possibly poor conditioning.

And, Barron ******* SUCKS! Just like Moncreif, he should be benched for a rookie next week. Put a rookie in with speed - not Dirty Red and not VW (if back healthy) unless it's an obvious running down. Where Moncrief kind of has an excuse for his drops with playing through dislocated fingers (******** should just let him rest with no practice for a couple weeks), Barron has no excuse other than he sucks.. He looks slow. He is never where he is supposed to be and I could go on and on.

You wouldn’t know it from watching the game, but the Steelers have an ILB named Mark Baron. He had all of ONE tackle. I’m not sure he belongs in the NFL, let alone the starting in the NFL.

Edmonds had ten tackles, most of which were the result of having passes completed against him. He is consistently a half second late doing everything.

And, Bush had a good game. He wasn't great but he certainly wasn't bad. He was covering guys, making tackles, picking up 2 fumbles and I didn't see any obvious mistakes this week.

Edmunds and Barron both are having a rough season to date. Not a good sign...............

I think a quote from Alexander the Great, is applicable to this defense.

Paraphrasing: "if given the choice between an army of lions led by a sheep, or an army of sheep led by a lion.... I would choose the army of sheep."

The Steelers defense is a group of lions led by a sheep.

HCMT will continue to NOT put this young QB in a position to succeed. But hey, how about that contract extension Art Le Deuce rewarded him with? Maybe Tomlin does an 8-8 and gets to justify “never having a losing season”?

8 and 8 would mean only losing 5 more games............. This is the year the team loses ten.

It's a little bit of both. No way the D can be expected to hold up through four quarters with the offense going 3-and-out - on drives averaging 1-2 minutes - time and time again. If and when Mason & this O can begin sustaining drives, establishing a run game, moving the chains, we'll see if this D can be consistently good. Look at the splash plays in the first halves against the Seahawks and Niners. Now add in an offense that can stay on the field for 4-5-6 minute drives, and we'll see what this defense is about. When you have little guys like Joe Haden completely gassed in the 2nd half, just imagine what condition the big uglies are in. And no, this is not a coaching/conditioning issue. No NFL defense can stay sharp spending that much time on the field, especially in 80 degree weather. The only guy who doesn't get a pass on D is Mark Barron, who sucked from the moment the ball was kicked off.

I hear you about 4 quarters but they only lasted 2.They started giving up TD's to the 9ers at the start of the 2nd half.

The D is showing signs here and there that they can be very good but they still need a few games to get there and we, unfortunately, don't have that luxury. Being 0-3 and our season is already on life support. We need to win on Monday for sure and probably the next game as well to even start thinking like we might have a chance again. But, the coaches need to tailor some things to Rudolph on O and get that **** moving. Does he like the no huddle? Then use it. Whatever it is that he likes and will make him comfortable, they should be doing. Having Samuels in the game as a safety valve would have been a good start.

This loss was not on the D??? Really? Up and down the field, throwing at will, running at will? One nice forced fumble by the #1 or #2 overall pick of 2020, and four gift turnovers. Choking away two fourth quarter leads... wait, it wasn't even choking. It was just getting their ***** beat. Their light ***** got pushed around by the offense, AGAIN! If not for them dropping the ball untouched or popping their own passes up in the air, they put up 45 points.

Total domination, 3 weeks in a row.

Tomlin's gotta go.

yes it was...they had the lead and lost it multiple times...plus the stupid ******* penalty

Only reason I’d dispute you on it:

After they got the turnover to get the ball back —the O had the ball for how long in real time?

Man did you see them on close ups after the Conner fumble? They were gasping for oxygen. The penalty was every bit the result of having nothing left—as was inability to bring him down twice on that drive.

Heyward went down at that 2:00 minute mark. He looked like a guy who had a combination wind knocked out and needed oxygen tank.

Even on the two TD drives... neither took a minute of game time.

It’s a team game and D did their part unlike many other D letdowns in recent years. But damn if the offense could simply have a drive that got 3-4 first downs and had some semblance of time of possession, would have been a W

The Def gave up 20 plays 10 yards or greater. Let that sink in a bit. Not including penalties.
