I'm going to call it right ******* now. This team has what it takes to go the whole damn way. You can say what you want about today's loss, but I'm calling it like I see it. This team kicked *** and was taking names down to the final buzzer. This was the team that was supposed to be owned by the Bungles, this was the team that was supposed to be DONE by the first quarter. This team has what it takes to go all the way, and I think iit starterd today. That might be odd to say after a loss, but this was a loss where EVERYONE had us getting stomped. This was a loss that we ShOULD have lost had our number one RB not been playing. And this was a game that untill the final whistle this T E A M was IN. I am saying it now, THIS is a team that's going to the playoffs, and when they do, they are gonna make some N O I S E! Here we go Steelers here we GO!

"...this was a loss where EVERYONE had us getting stomped..."

Not true. I saw several TV "experts" pick the Steelers.

In fact, on Pro Football Weekly - maybe the best NFL preview show of them all - two of the three guys on the panel picked the Steelers. One even went on about how beatable the Bengals are.

The guys in the locker room didn't think it would be a loss, we caught a ton if breaks and found yet another way to lose. I'm an optimist and think playoffs are probable if we right the ship, but a playoff win would be a start. Not sure what you've been drinking, but do ya have some extra to spare and share?

I'm sorry, I only watched the national pre game, where everyone was sucking bengal **** so deep, they couldn't even say "Steelers" without coughing after the "ST". So I'm basing that on what I saw, with the national peeps saying how the bungles were going to "kill" the Steelers with the"best offensive line in football" and how we would be holding on with our d hoping to even stay int the game. Again, that was just the generic national coverage, but watching it, I figured we were going to trot our a ******* JV sqad and get mauled by the 2nd quarter.

They didn't catch any breaks, though. The pass interference flag picked up that would have put us 11, Bell being injured and done for the season, all the short fields off terrible passes, our QB playing his first game in 4-5 weeks.
Nope, they got us at full strength and all systems go, we played the perfect game and they somehow pulled off the win.

I brew my own beer actually, and most of what I've had today is called Mango Reaper (mango for the fruit, and Reaper for the Carolina Reaper pepper that I infuse with the beer for 3-4 days to give it the HEAT). It's not very high alcohol content, but it does the trick for a kick and to still let you know you've had something with some punch to it! :) Feel free to come on over and have some, I'll be here for the next Steeler game, pm me and I'll shoot you my adress.

I seem to remember Vegas picking us by a point and a half.

And we ran this game. If Ben keeps his head and throws that ball away near the sideline, we probably win easily.

Losing Bell changes the season. But one thing is clear: from a talent standpoint, we're as good as any team in the NFL. But it's been a clusterfuck of mistakes and injuries.

The Wildcard is our best hope. Having said that, the Steelers are the first team in NFL history to win the SB as a 6th seed. So there's that.

I for one agree w t-man. IF we can find a way to get into the playoffs (that's the rub), we can beat any team out there. The Cheats will always be the favored team in NE but I think we have enough to give them trouble. I would be more worried about having to play in Denver (their defense is for real) but we could win. With all the crap we had to deal w today, we shut down a damn good offense and will find our scoring as Ben gets healthy. The team has resolve. If we had gone to a no huddle offense, we would have scored more, IMO. The brass wanted to control the clock and keep our defense off the field, hence, a less effective offense. I think we can play with anyone right now. We just have to WORK a little smarter and get rid of the stupid penalties!

At this point, it doesn't matter how we get in, just that we get in!

Honestly, and I truly dont think it's sour grapes, the Bungals are still the Bungals. they snapped over the QB head, they threw picks at the goal line, they had chip shot FGs blocked. The Steelers lost today because they out-bungaled the bungals for a day. They are still no threat to win a title. i truly believe that.

Steelers will win cause the frickin D is playing with some passion. Shazier, Dupree, Heyward and Harrison and even Blake have some heart. I still think Blake lacks too much in size to be an effective corner but his character keeps him up. The guy had an int and an opportuntiy for a pick 6 a few plays later. Let Ben shake off the rust and watch the magic happen

I'm as big a fan of the Steelers as any here, I say shoulda win a game does not get it. We have been in the games we lost, except NE in all reality. We have not made the plays to either put the other team away or put us in the position to secure the win. Yesterday was that, if we made a stop a penalty kept Cincy going or made a play to get a meaning first down called back. The interference called off took at least three off the board, Ben runs for a first kept a possible TD off the board. The teams going all the way are making these plays or getting the break when needed. Every lose there was at least four times that we did not make the play to win. I despise games like yesterday, to many shoulda woulda coulda moments.

Didn't catch any breaks...how many times do you expect bad snaps to substitute for the D and cost the opponent scoring chances? Cockrell mugging Green without reproach on the majority of times they matched up, flat pushed him out of the end zone one play.

The games bounces went our way, but once again through poor situational football and less than stellar coaching/pitiful clock management we found a way to steal a loss as the Bungles tried over and over to Bungle the game to us
