This Crow tastes like ****!

It was perfect for this game. I hope they don't think they've figured it out and keep doing it. That short passing game works against a bad bungles defense. It won't work against better teams. They should be innovating all the time instead of just relying on Ben to do it. Now maybe they actually coach something.

agree. The short game has a purpose right now and that is getting MR as much help as possible while he acclimates to the NFL so to speak. The Ravens now have to prep for it. There is something very good in making future opponents use practice/film time to prep for something new/unexpected.

Beating teams doesn't mean we aren't predictable. The game plans have been stale and not very creative for quite a while. If you think they were some how creative before this, that is fine. We dont' have to agree. But last night was a huge deviation from anything they have ever done on offense in a very, very long time. I think we can agree on that.

Agree Hoot, great game-plan on offense that was definitely a deviation from the norm. Like Vader mentioned, with Ben out, hopefully this coaching staff is working overtime on other things that deviate from the norm.

What kills me about this Steelers team is that they're schizophrenic. You don't know what you're gonna get from week to week.

Been like that for years, man.

I, for one, miss the Bettis days of three yards and a cloud of dust or Heath up the middle and Hines out wide. Three unstoppable plays. Get back to the basics.

Edit* as I posted that my iPad was at 83%. It’s an omen.

Indy, what did you think about this Vannett kid? It's a small sample size, but it looked pretty damn good.

I loved it, but I compare TE play to Vance’s steamroll of that sap on TB last year. I want more of that beautiful stiff arm.

To both of you...

The only game the Steelers were 'outclassed' was the Patriots game. Period.

We lost to the 49'ers and Seahawks by a combined SIX POINTS. Two point loss to the unbeaten 9ers. Four points to the Seahawks. Yes, we lost those games; but if you can see improvement you just don't want to see it.

I don't fully agree w/ Vader, but his statement is correct - there are so many mediocre teams, in the AFC, this year it's not funny.

When Ben went down it didn't mean to throw the season for a premium draft pick. The team sucked it up and they're playing to win the games that are scheduled. All we have to do is root for 'em. We were spoiled w/ the BIG 3...now, they're not here...this season, at the very least, is going to test the resolve of many.

The question is, where will you stand when the dust settles???

Honestly if the Steelers can position themselves to make a run they will be a really great story... maybe the WWNFL will give them some calls down the stretch for once... I mean all the guys that the nfl hated are either gone or in bens case on ir... as long as we don’t threaten the golden boy they may well not screw is for once

We bet a very bad Bengals team who's playing with a 2nd string OL.

Fichtner finally figured out how to use Samuels

Buttler had his easiest matchup of the year and attacked. Now that Butler has a solid #2cb and significatnly free safety the Steelers can be more aggressive on the blitz.

The decision was made to turn Rudolph into a game manager, and it worked very well. Ben might have had something to do with Rudolph settling in.

I even agreed with Tomlin's red flag challenge

Yes--the coaching was finally better. About F'n time.

The question is can this type of offensive gameplan work vs. Baltimore?

I didnt say anything about our defense being a problem although I think the improvement there has more to do with the addition of Fitz rather than a scheme change. I was referring to the offense not being fixed. And that same Seattle D Dalton lit up for 400 yards, we were only able to muster 260 total yards against...what's that say about our O??

We had young Mr.Rudolph starting the second half of his first ever NFL game and that played a lot into the low yardage total. Things on offense had to be tempered down with the sudden departure of Ben. If Tomlin will allow Mason to evolve and open the playbook up to him, be creative with the offense like Monday, then things should improve on offense against the better teams. With that said I am disappointed in the receiving corp. Switzer and Moncrief have been huge disappointments and Washington has to elevate his game. We must get production from Washington to take some heat away from JuJu. I suddenly like our TE combination of the Vance and Nick show and think if these two can stay healthy, that will help Mason and this offense tremendously.
