Bud is getting another contract. Probably even be a very lucrative one. Just won't be in Pittsburgh
Bud Dupree over his last 21 games, per Daniel Valente @pfref
:
16.5 sacks
27 QB hits
45 pressures
20 Tackles for losses
5 forced fumbles
^^^ Very impressive. If Bud can keep up this pace, he deserves another contract.

Sigh. We will not trade Bud.
it would be very hard to do. We aren't going to trade him until after the season. Then, a lot of things would need to happen:
1. We determine we can't meet his contract desires.
2. We find a team willing to do a trade which would most likely need to be a Tag-Trade type deal. I suspect finding a team open to this will be tough, but not impossible. A team might covet him that does not want to bid against other teams in FA.
3. Get Bud on board. Bud's best play for himself is to hit FA. The only way the above works if Bud agrees to a long term deal with the team he goes to before the tag-trade is done.
that said, I do not want him to go. I have said that since last year. He and Watt are great bookends. I just don't know how we keep them both. The cap before this year would be tough. Next year, who knows what the NFLPA and NFL will agree to on the cap.

I think Ben and a few other cap freeing moves would do what they need to do in the offseason. As it looks like ben will still be here. So they will try to keep the team together.
BTW Did you put low points because of it being a Thursday game or when two crappy teams play each other rule? Going against that rule almost cost me 10 points. Eagles had no business losing then they had no business winning,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I'm absolutely certain that Coach wanted to run Buddy out of town up until last year...

The problem with Ben is, unless he takes a big hometeam discount, extending him just pushed the cap hit further down the road. Eventually you have to deal with it.
Also, does Ben want to play into his 40's?

Just like Deebo and Woodley. Woodley did nothing for the Raiduz when he was set free by the Steelers. If the league knew Bud's numbers would be this good this year, we might have gotten a contract offer on his nonexclusive franchise tag. No way he earns a tag and trade. The player to make that play with would be JuJu.
I feel Watt and Bud are like Crosby and Malkin. Both are incredible together, but Watt (Crosby) can play with anyone, and Bud (Malkin) needs talent with him to shine his brightest. This is why you ultimately prioritize Watt over Dupree.
