Things we are looking forward to this season

Heck, if they win two, they might as well win it all. I know that's the way I will look at it. I hate them making the playoffs and getting blown out. It sucks. Going on a run in the playoffs and then losing sucks too. I'm not saying I'd rather them not make the playoffs. But once you do, there are no moral victories.

My biggest worry is have they figured out how to get a yard or two on 3rd or 4th down. They've been horrible at it for several years now.

Asking for two just felt greedy 🤣 and sadly a bit unrealistic

The only thing that will set the record straight for me will be continued playoff success year in and year out threatening to be in the AFC Championship game regularly with an occasional SB appearance here and there. Sure they can miss every now and then but they should have the ability to actually make a RUN here and there too rather than continually being the by far worst team in the field (lamb led to slaughter) aka the current standard.

I hear yaz on all that, but 1 playoff win in my eyes, won’t exonerate the Tomlin.

Yes, I’ll take the win(s) with the hope of him being better next season.

How far can this team go is everyone’s question. Know though that this team will go as far the amount of change the Tomlin has succumbed to.

The old conservative scheme will doom this team, thus the change that is needed and spoken about by the Tomlin.

Only one thing at this point will exonerate Tomlin. Winning a championship with a team he built. He's gotta know that, right? I don't think he cares what fans think, millionaires generally don't. But whenever his career here is over, if he doesn't win one with a team he built, it's gonna follow him with the people whose opinions he probably values. I think he does care about that.

Speaking of Cam, do you think he might not play this week? Could you imagine that? Might as well trade if if he does that, because he wouldn't get elected dog catcher in Pittsburgh after doing that.

I think the Cam thing is dumb. He signed a contract he fully agreed to. His agent or whomever is whispering in his ear, is giving bad advice.

As for his playing game 1, that's where we will find out his bluff or no bluff poker hand...........

As unpopular as this sounds I just have to say it.
I don’t wish for another 9-10 win season to maybe back into the playoffs only to not be able to compete against the real quality teams in the AFC playoffs.
Where the hell does that leave us in the draft order, mushy middle again. 20-22 hoping to draft a franchise QB. Lots of luck with that!
I simply don’t think this team is good enough to win a playoff game. So many things have to fall into place.
The old QB, the OL, the running game, DK and ??? at WR, the playcalling. Then the highest paid defense, the communication issues from last season, controlling the run, defensive backfield revamped, defense wearing down by end of November.
Idk but so many things have to go right and I hope they do but I really have my doubts.
Four years in a row the highest paid defense and they disappear in the playoffs.
Why should we think that would change. This defense quit in Baltimore the last playoff game.
I know, they added Ramsey who is 31 and Slay who is 34 but how much will that make a difference. We’ll see’

I think what change if any there is to the offensive scheme and approach based on Rodgers influence is going to be the most interesting thing in the first few games. If we keep playing cave man ball I think Rodgers airs out all the laundry on Pat McAfee and that will be popcorn ready material

Also weather or not the defensive scheme is adjusted to fit the strengths of the roster. You have 3 great corners, play some bloody man to man coverage and stack the box!! No more bend don’t break wuss ball

I highly doubt Cam sits out week 1 and probably a couple million are slid his way this week and every one saves face, but if he does sit out watch out, the backlash will be brutal

This and gaining a yard or two on 3rd and 4th downs are keys to actually show Tomlin has learned something. To date, he has not.

Ya know Drink I’m seriously contemplating changing things up this year with the prediction thread.
I’ve always made my Steeler predictions with my heart never, ever picking them to lose. This year I think I’ll just predict based on my true feelings, my gut feelings.
Doesn’t mean I’m turning against the team. I’d never do that but just not predict on what I want to happen but what I think will happen.

No worries steelhurt, not think lesser of yaz at all. It’s just a thing and it’s changing for you.

Go with what works for you and no worries the rest of the way.

I still pick STEELERS although It’s harder these days, with the history of Groundhog Day in the picture.

However one chooses to pick means neither lesser or moreR (haha), just a pick.

Anyone that’s been around you knows you are a Steelers fan, just because you pick against them doesn’t mean you don’t root for them………

I started picking that way last year and did pretty well until the playoffs when I just couldn’t pick against them, even tho I knew what was going to happen 🤦🏻‍♂️
