Things I dont understand...

How can the Rats compete with the Pats every time they play them and we cant? There isnt one player on the Rats offensively that I would trade for any or ours...defensively I know the Rats get pressure with their front, but even when we had dominate defenses we still got blasted by the Pats. I know people hate the Harbaughs.... I personally think they are great coaches. Are we getting out coached every time, even with Cowher? I just dont understand I guess.
 
1) Coaching.
2) Avoiding stupid plays on offense.
3) Not giving up 10 yd cushions.

Since the Pats* basically wait for you to beat yourself, they have a hard time with the Ravens.
 
Players? Brady every year has the likes of LaFell, Edelmann, Welker, Gaffney, Caldwell, Givens, Thompkins, Gronk, etc RB's Vereen, Gray, Blount, Woodhead, Ridley, etc. STEELERS: Ward, Plax, Wallace, AB, Sanders, Miller. RBs: Bettis, Parker, Bell, etc.

I just dont get it.
 
I've always said that the Pats* offense is LeBeau's kryptonite. What they do best (short passing game) is what the Steelers defend worst.

So what about offensively? Over the years there arent many players I would take from the Rats or Pats over the weapons we had on offense.

In recent history (until this year) the Pats* averaged about 10 points more per game than the Steelers. Brady's accurate passing combined with Belicheat being the best coach in the game when he's not cheating, plus I think he's still cheating.
 
OK, here's one: What was the point of Goodell - and his wife, former Fox News anchor Jane Skinner - sitting in the stands at the Bal-NE game? That he's just a "regular guy." He looked uncomfortable, and she looked absolutely miserable.

I wonder if they spent the whole game there? They were probably brought there for the photo op, then whisked back to a cozy box.

New England is too much of a massive statistical anomaly to ignore. I call bullshit on them.
 
Well many of Cowhers losses can be directly attributed to The Cheatriots blatantly cheating. I don't remember who said it but one of our players was talking about the *Pats calling out our defensive plays as soon as our players lined up. So there is that. When we have beaten New England its been with the formula of letting Brady take a shot or two in order to blast him in the face and rattle him then running the ball and short passes and passes to the TE.

That would explain the *'s winning but not the rats competitiveness against them. No gum for you!

Anyhow I told my son last night that flacco's chuck it up and pray for the flag finally bit him in the *** last night. His response....."we're all worse off no matter who won that game." I'm so proud!

In the last 10 years we've beaten them 3 times and lost to them 5. Not a great record but I wouldn't say "we can't compete".

Yes, but it seems like whenever the pats beat the steelers, they usually give them a beatdown, whereas the ravens almost always make it hard for them to win

Thats 2-5 when Matt Cassel doesnt play, and 1-5 if you take out the Halloween massacre (which was the start of the time frame- Just one of those nights when stuff went right). We don't compete well at all with them.
 
Lebeau will stick with the soft coverage, let them catch and make the tackle, come hell or high water. The Pats are more than willing to rip his philosophy to shreds every time..

IIRC, the Hlloween massacre occurred during the *'s cheating heyday. Again, iirc they were completely in tune to everything the Steelers tried to do later that year.

For those who don't get it. Our HC coach is a soft, ignorant, and brash leader whose players like him, but do not respect him. He is a terrible HC. At best he should be a position coach in college.
