The word bacon is offensive.

they've reached out to the individual who made the post and proactively took the sign down. They also say they regret any harm caused by the sign, and that their goal was never to cause stress or bad feelings.

The sign must have attacked someone?
 
There is no "right to not be offended". People have the right to be outright jerks if they should so please. There is exactly one absolutely innapropriate type of speech that has to be legally banned, and that is a spoken threat. there is a second that probably ought to be regulated, and that is sexually descriptive and perverse speech in front of minors. Everything else falls into degrees of polite behavior.

A polite and civilized person aims not to offend anyone intentionally. An intelligent and mature person takes no offense in any words spoken save for threats. Easily offended persons and people trying to offend others are immature and foolish. Its not really worth society's time to cater to them or to really pay them any attention... ignore them and move along... preferably to a nice plate of bacon or, for those who do not eat meat, bacon flavored soy or something. It is this womans right to not partake of bacon or any other food for religious beliefs. It is not her right to impose any part of that on others.
 
This thread is useless without pictures. Then again, its probably a burka (sp?). The reporter sounds hot though.
 
I like Bacon.

Last night, the Mrs. and I made pizzas - one of the featured toppings was bacon. Delicious.
