Roethlisberger: Coaches overruled my call to spike on final play

Ben Roethlisberger's interception on the Pittsburgh Steelers' final play of Sunday's game against New England Patriots would not have happened if he had the call.
Roethlisberger said he wanted to spike the ball with five seconds remaining on a running clock as the Steelers got ready for a snap at the Patriots' 7-yard line down 27-24, but the call from the sideline was to run a play, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Roethlisberger's final pass was intercepted by Patriots safety Duron Harmon, allowing quarterback Tom Brady to kneel out the final few seconds of the clock, clinching the three-point victory.
I wasnt going to say ******* word.. He brought this bullshit up. I wanted to clock it..well if you didnt want to run a play chuck the ******* ball in the stands. But nooooooo i wanted to clock it. Its not my fault i wanted to clock it
Bullshit, you guys can't wait to jump on Ben. Just like if we clocked it there people would be killing Tomlin for having no balls, the DB made a nice play, it happens Christ always have to blame someoneIf that play had scored 6 Ben would be taking credit, that's just Ben.
When’s the last time Ben has taken credit for himself? He almost always gives credit to his ol, rb, we...etc.If that play had scored 6 Ben would be taking credit, that's just Ben.
Then why didn’t Haley or Tomlin call a ******* play with a fade route as an option. Any chance you get to blame Ben and absolve Tomlin and Co. From any blame you are always the first to throw it out there. The right play was not to spike the ball. You throw a fade to the endzone and kick the field goal. Just own it, you blew it. This is the biggest difference with him and guys like Rodgers and Brady. When the play is successful he makes sure he let's everyone knows, "we went no huddle and just called the plays on the field". Now this crap. Take ownership of this, even if it was called in from the sideline. Geez, You are a 13 year veteran not a rookie. This he coach should feel comfortable enough to know you wouldn't force the ball in all of that traffic to the smallest guy on the field.
I didnt write that copied and pasted someones comment from another site.

Then why do you keep spouting off to throw a fade route when the call from Haley had no fade routes? So does Ben now have to be smarter than Haley and change the play calls too? But Haley and Tomlin get a pass but Ben gets the blame for not changing the play that was called by Haley. Makes total ******* sense.Man please there ia no blame for the sideline i dont give a **** what they called the ball didnt have to be thrown at all if no one was wide open. There was time to run all kinds of routes..and since nothing was run right the obvious play for a veteran QB is throw it into the stands

Why does anyone need blamed? We went for the win, Eli was definitely held, DB clearly grabbing his jersey which made him fall before the ball got there.

Why because of saying nothing Ben said well i wanted to spike it. Yeah i know he was asked but so what. If he had said the call came from the sideline but i gotta throw that away im not saying ****. Win as team lose as a team. And i would feel the same if Tomlin or Haley came out and said what im saying about Ben. It would suck. EVERY QUESTION ASKED DOESNT NEED AN ANSWER
Who cares, it's not like he was derogatory towards them, I'm sure Tomlin will say himself in his presser that they were going for the win and I was happy they did, just unlucky ending. DB clearly grabbed him, far more contact on that than the ****** PI on Burns vs Gronk, but I could really care less after getting ****** twice by the refs there

I was talking about the ending, but don't forget the drive where Gostkowski missed the XP, they called a ridiculous PI on Artie Burns on 3rd downmore than twice
refs had no intention on calling the pats on penalties it was obvious. But funny on a drive that would have put the Steelers way ahead they call a bullshit penalty. Those refs had a clear agenda and it wasn't just for a few plays.

Mental drama, he was asked about the play, damn you guys are way to ******* sensitive, I'm sure Tomlin will say in his presser that he wanted to go for the win too, this is a non issue.Hey Coryea I've been hard on Ben , but he has been playing great lately I won't deny that.
The "broken toes" syndrome still lingers with 7 though. He's just moved from physical drama to mental now.
