and to be honest, I could very easily see it happening. The Steelers on Tomlin's watch have consistently played down to lesser competition, especially on the road. If they lose to the Browns, giving them their first win of the season, I cringe at the thought of what this board will be like Sunday night. Sure hope they can take care of business. Sad that a season with so much promise has turned in to a train wreck.

Does anyone think we will take care of business against the Browns?

It's gonna be a 13-9 (or in that neighborhood) nailbiter in favor of Cleveland and anyone who's watched this team the past decade can already predict it

I think most fans are already in meltdown tbh.

I can totally see the Browns game plan working next Sunday and Tomlin not adjusting for it and we lose AGAIN in the last minute because of a total bonehead penalty by our undisciplined defense allowing a last second FG and a 17-16 loss.

( this isn't from my psychic ability. It's just that obvious )

Well after the way we moved the ball in the 4th at Baltimore and then yesterday in the offense Ben asked for, how can we not use that approach at Cleveland, but I fear smarty coach T will use his ultra conservative offense

Well as long as Cleveland is not producing on offense than it is fine to be conservative...just ask Coach Cliche.

Anybody comes on here saying they want to lose for a better draft position should be stabbed in the head with an icepick 30 or 40 times

It's not over till it's over

5 losses in a row, with the Browns, the worst team in the NFL being the 5th would eliminate all Tomlin fence sitters, and have his core supporters seeking cover.

I'm not saying that but would it be OK to lose if Tomlin would be fired?

We always lose to the browns at least once. Here it comes.

If it was sink or swim, then yes it would be okay. One minor step back, two take three giant steps forward.

But Rooney doesn't work that way and in my opinion will have to check his ego to fire Tomlin after a league rule named after him.

They Rooney's fire Tomlin?

hahahahahahahaha

Tomlin has the job for life, if he wants it.

This game is a Tomlin Trademark loss. I can easily see us losing.

Tomlin will get another contract, bet on it.

Nothing less than a blowout will be an acceptable outcome. Of course, I realize they are going to lose.

I'm so upset with this heartless bunch that a part of me kind of wants them to lose to the Browns so maybe the message finally gets through that they can't just win on raw talent, they actually have to play hard and pay attention to details.

This browns teams would not even be the worst team Tomlin would have lost to. Record wise they would be, but these browns are in full rebuild mode and are using this season like an experiment. They do have talent and if they settled on 1 QB, they probably would have won a few.

You're a PSU fan, correct?

I mean, have you observed the contrast just in terms of heart and attitude, since about the beginning of October, between our Nittany Lions on Saturdays and our Steelers on Sundays? It makes it even more maddening seeing the beautiful things that can happen when a team is focused, determined, and detail-oriented, and knowing how much our Steelers are capable of if only they were coached and motivated the way our Nittany Lions are.

IT sure is a set up game, the board has been angry since Miami and last night seeing all the Dallas fans in attendance makes you see how close the fans are from saying enough. I see no pride in this team. I know...it is a different game....but as I watched Coates be more concerned about talking to Dallas players and patting them on the head and laughing on kick offs. I realize players don't give one crap on this team. It truly becomes hard to watch.

What, a team with a losing record on the road? Naaahhh, never happen. /sarc

I would say its a trap game but I think the trap was sprung weeks ago.

will I ever root for the Steelers to lose?

no

do I hope for Tomlin to get canned?

yes

will they fire the mediocre head coach?

no

will they fire Butler?

yes

will the Steelers make the playoffs? possible in this sorry *** division, but nobody from the AFC North will go deep in the playoofs

if someone said Slash you have two options fire Tomlin or win this years SB

I would pick win the SB

but make no mistake about it I want this loser gone............

I had the same thought. This year's Penn State team is special because they play with so much heart. It is the exact opposite of what we see with the Steelers. PSU has talent but almost no experience. They have new offensive and defensive schemes. Some were putting their coach on the hot seat and most predicted a 6 or 7 win season.

They lost a close one to Pitt and then a couple weeks later, they got hammered by Michigan. Penn State's AD had to answer questions about whether Franklin would be fired. So many teams would have folded up. Michigan State folded up when things went bad. But Penn State played hard, they never doubted. You can see how much those kids believe in each other and want to do their best for each other.

The Steelers play like a bunch of individuals. There is no team.

I agree with this assessment. One thing I saw yesterday during the game that didn't sit well with me was when Shazier made a stop in the back field on Elliott, he then pointed with his thumbs to the name on the back of his jersey. I hate the "look at me" attitude of some of these players. During the years of great defenses for Steelers, I never once saw a player do it. They played for each other, not individually.

In all honesty this last game was entertaining. But I did wake up from it all exhausted. The historic rivalry between the teams got me into the game more than any gams this season. But that still doesn't take away the bad coaching that has dampened the Killer B's playmaking ability. The defense more than not held up for at least the offense to win it, but also broke enough to lose it. At this point maybe the guys on the field are not the right personel. It was a weird loss. I don't think I'm in melt down mode. But more in a foggy headed wtf is up with the steelers type mode

I have to admit I am falling off the Tomlin bandwagon (not totally, but close). A turning point for me was his response to our conservative approach in the Baltimore game - "we were satisfied with how the game was unfolding (until we weren't)."

I realize he takes that conservative approach into every game. He's satisfied to just keep it close. The problem is, more times than not, we get the exact same results as we did in Baltimore. You simply can't let teams hang around in the NFL.

My guess is we'll get something similar in Cleveland. I predict either another loss, or an "ugly win," followed by a statement about not "style points." It's time we step on somebody's neck. I'm not holding my breath though.
