TSEG is the firm that represents Bell. I looked them up, and other than not updating their website in a year, they have a sad list of clients. Nobodies, CFL players, and roster depth, other than Tyrod Tayler. Hell they even represented Ladarious Green! WOW!! Bell is their only blue chip client.

Long and short. They are a new agency, and the Steelers are an old family run organization. They will have a very tough time negotiating any players on the Steelers from this point on. Steelers don't negotiate with players that hold out, and this decision will weigh heavily into future dealings. They will get no favors from the Steelers from this point on, and being a young company, they can't afford to make an enemy with an organization like Pittsburgh's.

Have fun with this list:

Perhaps The Sports and Entertainment Group LLC has spent too much time watching reruns of Jerry McGuire.

They have a problem now with the comments made by Ramon Foster AND Maurcise(sp) Pouncey - two all pro caliber linemen. Sad it had to come to this.

It isn't like the Steelers offered chump change to Bell in the long term contract.

What is the saying? "Show me the $$$$$".

Devil's advocate here.

They could be doing all this for the publicity and don't really have Bell's best interests in mind. You wouldn't have thought twice about going to their website otherwise so in some ways it worked for them to stand out.

They also just negotiated a 5 year $72m deal for Stefon Diggs this offseason so while he isn't the same talent level as Bell, that's certainly not chump change.

Scott Boras is considered one of the greediest dirtbag agents in the biz, but he definitely has tons of clients because of it.

I'm certainly not condoning what they're advising Bell to do, I can just see why they might be doing it.

They have a few worthwhile clients.
"Name brands" if you will, albeit it some retired from sport or end the end of their run.
But it's not just a bunch of scrubs, per se.

I foresee this not ending as expected for Bell nor this agency.
I don't see them getting a better contract than we offered, especially since he'll be one year older, with however many more miles on the odometer, the known suspensions and off-field antics, and now this dog and pony show with the holdout.

Its pretty simple, the 3 contracts of Gurley, Donald and Mack have made top tier players realize they can get paid above what the norms have always been. The rising cap each year is putting premiums on these players. I don't know that there is any stopping the salary madness that is going on.

i understand that his agent recommended Bell to sign the deal that the Steelers offered but Bell wouldn't so now the agent has to side with Bell no matter what, he has to accept his client's wishes

Enough Already! Completely severe all possible ties with this selfish, stupid, stubborn, ignorant, and yes, extremely talented running back. James Conner has looked great in pre season and should be the featured back. If I were Colbert, I would not trust or believe anything from the Bell or his ragtag agent. Let this idiot go with unrestricted free agency and he will see very soon what teams are willing to pay a five year back with 20 to 30 carries per game over that five year period. He has been injured and unable to go twice when post season began. The other play off season he did play in he was unable to go in the AFC Championship game vs Denver. He has been penalized for illegal drug consumption and not played in the first four games of a season. He is very high risk to sign long term at the dollar amount he is demanding. His previous history is questionable at best but he is convinced that he deserves to be financially set for life or he will refuse to play. Even for a franchise tag of over 14 million. The Steelers front office are not idiots. They will cut ties with him and replace him with one draft pick. What kind of idiot refuses to play in a 60 Minute game which will pay them over $800,000 just to show up in uniform. Wow, this guy must not need to wipe his *** or even flush the toilet after taking a dump. Nobody seems to realize how blessed we are with his mere presence! Yea, he'll soon find out the world in deed does not revolve around him and the Steelers Organization don't either.

He is delusional. He thinks if he lets the Steelers run his wheels off he will be jeopardizing some imaginary mega-deal from some other team next year.

Maurice Jones Drew on the top row of clients? Uhhh, okay.

Do these guys have a Delorean?

You want to set the new bar for running backs and you have no name agents giving you patently bad advice. Great plan.

Great point Nitsuj,

They need all the publicity they can get.

They aren't on the Forbes list for top 40 Sports agencies:

https://www.forbes.com/sports-agencies/list/#tab:overall

And isn't in the top 20 richest agents, so he's under $7M of value:

https://moneyinc.com/the-20-richest-sports-agents-in-the-world/

Also the founders are lawyers, not marketers. It's why their clients have crappy endorsement deals, because they have to figure out from scratch, how to open up better revenue streams. They are very qualified for working out contracts, wealth advisement, and money management, but if you choose these guys over any other agency, you are singing with a firm that is clearly in the back of the pack for potential off field earnings and endorsements.

As much as we don't like it, holding out is the smartest thing a guy can do who wants a massive guaranteed contract. It's clear the only thing he cares about is getting paid and nothing else. He wants to stay healthy and strike it rich in free agency next year and that's exactly what is going to happen.
