The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

Isn't Americans hiring illegals, encouraging more of them to come here?

I hope you have an editor for your upcoming, #1 NYT Best Selling smash hit book.

Trump should set an example and announce his businesses will be using E-verify and weeding out all illegally employed people in his organization.
Then he should encourage all businesses to voluntarily implement Universal E-verify.

As a small business owner myself I was curious why more businesses don't use e-verify (in some states it's mandatory)

Turns out there are some very good ones:

Five Drawbacks of Signing Up for E-Verify

• E-Verify is not entirely free. Employers must allot time and resources to training and supervising staff to use the system and deal with the results of queries.

• E-Verify makes mistakes, issuing Tentative or Final Non-Confirmations for workers who are authorized to work, or stating “Employment Authorized” for workers who are not.

• Tentative Non-Confirmations open employers up to new legal risks. For example, employees have sued employers for discrimination for not providing proper notice and instructions for contesting a Tentative Non-Confirmation.

• E-Verify can lead to liability for privacy and discrimination violations. Federal and state laws require the safeguarding of I-9 information. Employers must make sure that their staff does not intentionally or accidentally misuse E-Verify data.

• Because the government can use E-Verify to mine data, it may find employers' hiring mistakes that otherwise would not have been discovered. For example, employers enrolled in E-Verify must complete and submit I-9 forms by the third business day after a new hire's first day of work. Consistently missing this deadline could trigger an I-9 inspection and fine. Employers who are not submitting I-9s to E-Verify might never be caught in a slight delay in completing them.

The reality is most businesses who are not required to use e-verify, don't. Most businesses don't do most things that add unnecessary expense and risk.

That said, I think considering Trump's stance on immigration it would have been politically smart for him to make sure his businesses were using it. He's certainly not breaking any laws or acting out of the norm by not using it.

Absolutely 21 and in my humble opinion all that are found to knowingly hire an illegal should be fined and or incarcerated. It is definitely not happening right now but if it should begin, I'd bet a dollar that the immigration problem we have now would be considerably reduced.

Now about that article. You don't see a problem with the statement...

She said that she told a human resources employee, whose name she does not know, that she did not have legal status. She said that the woman replied, “‘It’s O.K. No problem.’ She scratched me off the list.”

Somehow I don't think that flies in the face of reality for any number of reasons, the least of which would be the secret service scrutiny and on the face would mean she falsified documents, meaning immediate deportation. That just doesn't sound like an illegal immigrants first choice after paying thru the nose for them same documents.

I attended the Clay County Republicans meeting a week before the last election Chip. President of the NE Florida Builders association, a very powerful lobby, was in attendance and laid out their case why more illegals are necessary. To me he was the face of today's Repub party. They no more want any of the wall or stemming the flow of illegal workers than the dims. In fact, he laid out a better case for than against. After some disgruntled attendees suggested e-verify, he chastised them saying what the hell do you want, low cost of FL housing or no profit margins?

Neither party cares, one makes money on them, the other stays in office because they're here.

Brazilian President: “On this day the people began to free themselves from socialism”

Brazil’s new President, Jair Bolsonaro, said in his inaugural speech that he wants “liberation from socialism, inverted values and political correctness”.

“We are going to unite the people, rescue the family, respect religions and our Judeo-Christian tradition, combat gender ideology, conserving our values.”

Brazil's Bolsonaro says he is open to hosting a U.S. military base

SAO PAULO/BRASILIA (Reuters) - Brazil’s new President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday that he would be open to the possibility of the United States operating a military base on his country’s soil, a move that would form a sharp shift in direction for Brazilian foreign policy.

Bolsonaro, who took power on Tuesday, said that Russia’s support of President Nicolas Maduro’s “dictatorship” in neighboring Venezuela had significantly ramped up tensions in the region and was a worrying development.

Asked by the SBT TV network in an interview taped on Thursday if that meant he would allow U.S. military presence in Brazil, Bolsonaro responded that he would certainly be willing to negotiate that possibility.

Benjamin Netanyahu became the first Israeli Prime Minister to visit Brazil this week when he attended Bolsonaro’s inauguration. After a private meeting, Netanyahu said that Bolsonaro told him that moving the embassy was a matter of “when, not if.”

Bre Payton, Conservative Writer and Fox News Commentator, Dies at 26

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/30/obituaries/bre-payton-dead.html

By Mihir Zaveri

Dec. 30, 2018

Bre Payton, a writer for a conservative online news magazine and a guest commentator on the Fox News Channel, died on Friday in San Diego. She was 26.

Her death was confirmed by the online news magazine, The Federalist. Ms. Payton had the H1N1 flu, also known as the swine flu, and encephalitis, according to her family.

Ms. Payton started writing for The Federalist in April 2015. The site said she quickly became a “rising star” who was regularly featured on Fox News Channel and Fox Business Channel.

“From the moment we started talking I realized she was a potential star,” Ben Domenech, the publisher of The Federalist, said in an essay on Saturday. “She was raw, yes, but that could be honed. She was eager to learn, to write, and to go places — not because of ambition, but because she wanted to change the world.”

In December 2016, Ms. Payton wrote a critique of a music video produced for Kanye West’s song “Famous” in which the artist depicted a row of nude celebrities, including Taylor Swift and Donald J. Trump, before he was elected president, asleep in bed.

“Kanye’s latest work isn’t an artistic product of genius-level trolling, it’s the manic work of a browbeater itching for a fight by violating a group of individuals in a very personal and grotesque way,” Ms. Payton wrote in the critique, which had the headline “Kanye West Is a Bully.”

Her last published piece on The Federalist website, dated Dec. 20, described a senior living center in Chehalis, Wash., that told its residents that they could not use nativity scenes, the Star of David or a crucifix to decorate common areas.

She also made appearances on MSNBC, CNN and NPR and her work appeared in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, among other places, The Federalist said.

Ms. Payton was born on June 8, 1992, in California to George and Cindy Payton. She went to Western Christian Schools Private Satellite Program in Covina, Calif., and graduated from Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Va., where she earned a degree in political journalism.

“Bre is a great model for aspiring young journalists everywhere; she showed that it is possible to be a faithful Christian and a great journalist,” Les Sillars, a journalism professor at the college, said in a statement.

Ms. Payton had recently moved to Washington, but traveled to San Diego this month to guest host a show called “Tipping Point” on One America News Network.

Ms. Payton’s friend Morgan Murtaugh had asked her to stay with her for Christmas. She said she found Ms. Payton in her room at her apartment in San Diego unresponsive on Thursday morning.

Ms. Payton is survived by her parents and siblings — Jack, James, Cheekie and Christina — according to The Federalist.

She seemed unafraid to take on things that mattered, including breaking the hard-hitting piece DOJ Destroyed Missing Strzok/Page Text Messages Before The IG Could Review Them on December 13th, where, unlike the mainstream media who later focused on the idea that there was ‘no evidence’ that these text messages were deliberately destroyed, Payton leaned towards the conclusion that there was criminal intent in these deletions, a notion supported by Donald Trump.

Breaking News

Dow rallies over 700 points, best performance on a jobs report day since 2002
U.S. stocks surged Friday following one of the strongest jobs reports in recent memory as annual wages grew the most since 2008. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell also gave investors an extra lift, saying the Fed will be patient when assessing the U.S. economy.

Good news, but President Trump should fire that asshat Powell.

Yep but I'll bet nobody mentioned the high cost we pay in other areas like health and education. We save on housing, housekeeping, agriculture and the building trades but pay thru the nose for everything else.

But yeah...I hear ya.

Screw you, fake news media!

With all of the success that our Country is having, including the just released jobs numbers which are off the charts, the Fake News & totally dishonest Media concerning me and my presidency has never been worse. Many have become crazed lunatics who have given up on the TRUTH!…

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 7, 2019

…The Fake News will knowingly lie and demean in order make the tremendous success of the Trump Administration, and me, look as bad as possible. They use non-existent sources & write stories that are total fiction. Our Country is doing so well, yet this is a sad day in America!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 7, 2019

….The Fake News Media in our Country is the real Opposition Party. It is truly the Enemy of the People! We must bring honesty back to journalism and reporting!

Uh oh! What's that, more union votes for Trump in 2020?

“The President is the biggest and best supporter of the Steel Industry in many years. We are now doing really well. The Tariffs let us compete. Was unfair that the Steel Industry lost its jobs to unfair trade laws. Very positive outcome.” Mark Glyptis, United Steelworkers

I am sorry, but I have little sympathy for federal workers, at this point. They will get paid, unlike many other workers in middle America, whose livelihoods are impacted by policies concocted in Washington. It might be a good thing to see a little recession in the DC area.

Aren't these workers unionized? Don't they have a fund for these types of scenarios?

Surging oil output will push US towards energy independence in 2020, Dept of Energy says

The Department of Energy forecasts U.S. oil production will jump from 10.9 million barrels per day in 2018 to 12.9 million bpd in 2020.

The same year, the nation will start exporting more crude oil and fuel than it imports, the agency says.

Natural gas output is also seen hitting new all-time highs.

The U.S. will make major strides towards energy independence in the next two years as oil production and exports hit new highs, according to the Department of Energy.

U.S. oil production, already at an all-time high this year, will increase by another 2 million barrels per day by 2020, the agency's statistics bureau projects. The same year, the nation will start exporting more crude oil and fuel than it imports, the Energy Information Administration said in in its latest forecast.
