The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

So Tibs, the Trump presidency is going on 2 years. If he is this big racist that you accuse him of being, in what way has it hurt black people thus far? How will it hurt black people in the future? It hasn't, and it won't.
It's okay Stewey, you don't have to rationalize or substanitate your support of an openly racist and bigoted president. This isn't a written test, where you have to give a well substantiated and thought out answer. Life is full of choices. You choose to support him, I choose to not. Not a biggie.

When confronted with inconvenient facts. it is a common tactic to change the subject and move the goalposts somewhere else.

The fact that Trump has been exponentially better for Black people than Obama ever was can hardly even be disputed. It's as plain as day. I understand that crushes your Liberal narrative to pieces, but facts are facts and numbers are numbers.

Sanders apologized for the misinformation...something you democRATS never do otherwise it would occupy half the air time.

Under Trump in less than 2 years 700,000 jobs for blacks were created. Not bad for a racist.

Still more than triple of what Black Jesus 8 years brought.

White House Falsely Says Trump Beat Obama on Black Employment
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-data-in-claim-trump-beat-obama-on-black-jobs

  • Falsely claims that Obama created only 195,000 jobs for blacks
  • African-American employment grew by 3 million under Obama
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders falsely claimed that President Donald Trump has created three times as many jobs for black workers as his predecessor Barack Obama did during his entire time in office.

Sanders asserted at a White House press briefing Tuesday that Trump had tripled Obama’s eight-year job creation record in just 18 months, quoting numbers that are not even close to accurate.

“This president since he took office, in the year and a half that he’s been here has created 700,000 new jobs for African-Americans,” Sanders told reporters Tuesday. “That’s 700,000 African-Americans that are working now that weren’t working when this president took place. When President Obama left, after eight years in office, he had only created 195,000 jobs for African-Americans.”

The claim isn’t true, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Sanders backtracked hours later in a tweet. While the U.S. economy has added about 700,000 jobs held by black workers since Trump took office, it added about 3 million while Obama was in office, according to BLS data.

There were 15.5 million black workers with jobs when Obama took office in January 2009, as the country struggled to emerge from one of the worst economic recessions in decades. By the time Obama left office, 18.4 million black people had jobs. Trump inherited an economy on the upswing, and the rate of job growth has not changed significantly during his administration.

Two hours after Sanders made the claim, the White House Council of Economic Advisers posted in a tweet its “apologies” for a “miscommunication to” Sanders.

Progressives fume as Dems meet with Brett Kavanaugh

Progressives say Senate Democrats aren’t doing enough to oppose Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s second pick for the Supreme Court.

Activists aligned with the party’s fervent base say they are frustrated that more than a month into the fight, Senate Democrats have failed to take a hard stance and unite against the 53-year-old judge.

With only 49 members, the Senate Democratic Conference can’t block Trump’s pick on their own. But progressives want the caucus to launch a full-scale attack to try to sink or at least damage Kavanaugh, who, if confirmed, will help shape court decisions for decades.

“I think there’s been broad concern that Democrats haven’t been as united and as crystal clear as they need to be,” said Neil Sroka, a spokesman for Democracy for America. “It’s pretty concerning that we haven’t gotten … unanimity from the caucus.”

Elizabeth Beavers, policy director for the liberal Indivisible Project, added that they want Democrats to “come out swinging and to be in opposition. ... And on that front, we’ve been a little disappointed so far.”

The simmering frustration comes as Kavanaugh is set to meet with Democratic Sens. Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.) and Joe Donnelly (Ind.) on Wednesday and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) next week. Kavanaugh has already met with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.).

Yeah, Capitalism!

Buoyant consumer sentiment boosted retail sales more than expected in July, while bigger than expected productivity gains point toward lower inflation and possible wage gains.
Retail sales, which are the total receipts at stores that sell merchandise and related services to final consumers, rose 0.5 percent in July, according to data released by the Commerce Department Wednesday. Economists had expected sales to rise by just 0.1 percent. The sales numbers were so strong that they exceeded the top range of expectations of economists surveyed by Bloomberg.

Outside of auto and gas sales, retail sales grew an even stronger 0.6 percent.

Productivity, which has had very small gains or even retreated in recent years, rose 2.9 percent in the most recent quarter compared with the prior quarter. That topped expectations for gains of 2.5 percent and was far above the paltry 0.4 percent increase in the first quarter. Productivity measures the growth of labor efficiency in producing goods and services. Rising productivity can hold back inflationary pressures even when the labor market is tight. It can also lead to higher wages in the longer run.

Unit labor costs, a measure that reflects the labor costs of producing each unit of output, was expected to decline 0.2 percent, after declining 0.3 percent in the prior quarter. Instead, it declined 0.9 percent. That too is an indicator that inflation is likely to remain tame.

The increase in #productivity last quarter is a promising sign for the economy—especially when seen alongside record levels of openings, hires, and quits, and low levels of unemployment. https://t.co/Y1QNPfHPIa

The Federal Reserves New York State manufacturing survey also highlighted economic strength and showed no signs of stress from tariffs or anecdotal reports of parts shortages. The survey came in at 25.6, moving higher when economists had expected a decline to 20 from the prior reading of 22.6. The survey asks 200 manufacturing executives for their views on business conditions.

The picture comprised by the data released Wednesday morning was one of a strong economy when viewed from supply and demand sides, with rising productivity dampening inflation fears.

I do love seeing their own hypocrisy shoved right back in their faces. If Trump didn't do his twitter antics this **** would never come to light, so for that reason I'm glad he hasn't stopped his tweeting.

Always wondered who the one person was that watched his **** show. Thanks Tibs for answering that question.

Cuomo what a *****. Bet he has heard cum jokes his entire life.

I love the fact that the Dems are finally being honest, they hate everything America stands for

Andrew Cuomo shocks crowd, says America 'was never that great'

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo may have just handed Republicans a ready-made campaign ad for his rumored 2020 presidential bid – by declaring Wednesday that America “was never that great.”

The Democratic star made the seemingly offhand remark as part of his rebuke of President Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan during a bill-signing in New York. But the line drew gasps from the crowd. “We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great,” Cuomo said

Sounds just like their new propaganda wing, Antifa

It's the left that is divisive with their identity politics. The right isn't putting people in groups, suppressing free speech and assaulting those who don't agree with them. The socialists are the divisive party of hate and intolerance. Coumo is a putz.

President Trump Revokes Security Clearance of John Brennan, Former C.I.A. Director

President Trump on Wednesday revoked the security clearance of John Brennan, the former C.I.A. director under President Barack Obama, citing what he called Mr. Brennan’s “erratic” behavior.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/15/us/politics/john-brennan-security-clearance.html

He pulled it from Stzrok, Page and Ohr too. He should pull it from everyone who is not currently in or working under his administration. There's no reason for Hildabitch or Oterrorist to have security clearance.

He pulled it from Stzrok, Page and Ohr too.

Not yet

After Brennan, 9 others face losing security clearances, too

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Wednesday acted on a threat and revoked the security clearance of former CIA director John Brennan, citing a constitutional responsibility to protect classified information. Brennan, who served in the Obama administration, had retained his security clearance, as is custom, but had also become an increasingly sharp critic of Trump’s.

President Trump says he is reviewing security clearances for nine other individuals:

James Clapper, James Comey, Michael Hayden, Sally Yates, Susan Rice, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.

Some have been publicly critical of the president, while others are linked to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference.

Trump calls the investigation a ‘‘witch hunt"

Trump is turning America into a banana republic before our very eyes, and his supporters and the alt right media are giddy with joy.

A pathetic and disgraceful period of American history. Our kids and grandkids will know full well which side we stood on as America was attacked from within, assisted by a foreign adversary.

Politics aside, I don't see why anyone who no longer works for the government should have a security clearance and the accompanying access.

Politics aside, I don't see why anyone who no longer works for the government should have a security clearance and the accompanying access.

Threre is a fundamental misconception about how this works. The security clearance isn't useful or important for those retired officials no longer serving the government, but for the current CIA/FBI agencies to be able to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience these former officials have. It provides critically important continuity in counter intelligence and strategic issues that bridge over the 4-year terms of various governments and presidencies. Brennan was CIA head when we took down Bin Laden, Stzork one of our most knowledgable and experienced anti-espionage experts. Ridding these officials from the fabric of government and how it has operated for decades is a huge shot in the foot for this country. Putin for sure is overjoyed. All over the fragile ego of a panicked president on the run from the law.

Just goes to show what a gigantic dumbass Trump is that he thinks this will somehow keep the likes of Brennan, Comey, Hayden from criticizing him. All the while weakening US foreign intelligence capabilites in the process. Furcking idiot, I'm sorry, it has to be said.

Do you even read what you type before you hit "enter"? Banana republic? Do you even know what that is? (Besides a store that sells overpriced clothing....)

Yes Lyn, I know exactly what a banana republic is. A country where despots go after and strong arm political opponents, try to intmidate and sway the media and diminsh and subvert oversight over their dubious activities. Trump hits all the checkmarks. Have a nice day.
